People came from all over the world (Mexico, Italy, Poland, Canada and my friends LaVonda and Cyndi came from Nashville.) TNA announced on their website that Kevin Nash would not be here due to a heart condition of sorts that was aggravated over the weekend. Jeremy Borash and TNA championship committee member Larry Zybzsko informed the crowd instead of Jarrett/Nash, there will be a ten person gauntlet for the gold match and the winner will face Jeff Jarrett in the main event.
America’s Most Wanted, Gail Kim and Jeff Jarrett were backstage with a hearse and casket saying someone was going to the funeral home.
(1) Sonjay Dutt defeated Alex Shelley vs. Austin Aires vs. Roderick Strong vs. Supposedly this match will not be seen on replays of the PPV. This features three members of the former Generation NeXt kliq in ROH. With so much action in this match I probably missed some moves. After paper rock scissors, Shelley and Strong began the bout with a display of chain wrestling. Strong chopped Dutt on the chest to tag out. They locked up for a test of strength which ended up with Dutt doing his Undertaker rope walk with Shelley’s arm in hand. Shelley and Dutt were going to shake hands but Shelley bitch slapped Dutt before tagging in Strong. Strong and Dutt mixed it up until Aries made a blind tag into the match and all craziness broke loose. When it settled down Strong hit Dutt with a angles wings into a backbreaker. Shelley came in and locked Dutt in several submission moves but didn’t get the submission. Aries tagged in and hit Dutt with a backbreaker for two. Strong smacked Aries to get back in the match and put Dutt on his shoulder and then sat out into a facebuster of some kind. All four men locked the other in submission moves but none of them tapped out. All four went for the win with several amazing moves including Shelley hitting Strong with a tornado DDT, Dutt hitting Shelley with his own version of a powerdrive elbow and Strong hitting Dutt with a gutbuster. The match ended when Dutt blocked Strong’s superplex and came back into the ring with a huricurana. The crowd gave them a great ovation.
Shane Douglas spoke to the NEW NWA World Tag Team champions America’s Most Wanted and Gail Kim before he asked the truck to play the footage of the title change. Douglas reminded them tonight they will have to defend the belts TONIGHT. Chris Harris proclaimed AMW the best tag team in TNA history. James Storm reminded the crowd Team 3D are dead and buried. As Mike Tenay and Don West ran down the card they also were told that Larry Zybzsko told all TNA talent to be ready as they might have to compete in another match. At that moment Raven and Cassidy Riley came out to hold the show hostage. Raven called Zybzsko out to the ring and he came out with TNA black shirt Security. Raven said it’s a shame about Nash but the show must go on. He demanded an answer to Raven/Jarrett, yes or no! Zybzsko said he would make his own mind up and Raven tried to choke out Zybzsko when Rhino came out to the ring. Rhino said Raven wasn’t the man he was five years ago that he would beat the shit out of Larry, he would crucify a man (like Sandman.) Raven answered by attacking Rhino. As TNA security escorted Raven out Riley got GORED twice by Rhino.
Shane Douglas spoke to World X Division champion AJ Styles about his match tonight with Christopher Daniels. Styles said he hasn’t been able to pull away from Daniels no matter how many times he faces him. Then the conversation went back to Tenay and West who ran down the card before the free audience left. Samoa Joe’s dance troupe did a fire dance in his honor and Jushin Liger was getting ready for the match.
(2) Samoa Joe defeated Jushin “Thunder” Liger This match came about from a brand new contracted New Japan/TNA Wrestling talent exchange set up by New Japan/Inoki Sports VP David Marquez (who was in attendance in the front row with Simon Inoki.) Joe’s family, which is a Samoan dance company, brought him to the ring. Liger was showered with streamers from the crowd. The match began with Joe using his size advantage and Liger using his highflying arsenal. Liger went for a body block but Joe caught him and hit a Samoan drop. Liger fought out of a chinlock and was ready for a palm strike when Joe hit a Powerslam. Liger fought out of a second chinlock and fought to get a fisherman suplex for two. Liger followed with a Frogsplash for two. Joe hit an enziguri and was ready for the Muscle Buster who Liger slid out and hit a power bomb for two. In the end Joe hit the Muscle Buster and Liger passed out in the Kokina Clutch. Liger received a standing ovation.
They played some footage from yesterday’s fan fest, featuring some interviews with fans and also footage of the wrestlers signing items.
(3) The Diamonds in the Rough (Simon Diamond, David Young and “Primetime” Elix Skipper) defeated Shark Boy, Sonny Siaki and Apolo. Skipper and Young came to the ring wearing matching ring vests and trunks. Diamond looked ready to manhandle Shark but Shark Boy had other plans as they traded moves, right up until Shark Boy bit Diamond in the ass. Diamond tagged out to Skipper who was promptly hit with a drop toe hold. Skipper recovered but Apolo tagged in and hit Skipper with an acecrusher for two. As Diamond occupied Rudy Charles, Young hit a top rope shoulder tackle right into Apolo who was whipping Skipper into the corner. The trio worked over Apolo with all their moves but couldn’t keep the big man down on the mat. Apolo tagged in Siaki who took on all three opponents. Everyone went to the floor with high flying moves as Diamond walked into an Apolo superkick before Apolo went over the top onto everyone else. Skipper and Siaki came back to the ring. Skipper reversed Siaki’s corner whip and tossed Siaki in the air, right into Young’s arms and was hit with the Spinebuster to win the match.
They showed a quick recap of the pre-show bout and Raven’s conversation with Larry Zybzsko. Tenay and West spoke on camera about something. Shane Douglas spoke to NWA World Heavyweight champion Jeff Jarrett and Gail Kim about who would take on Jarrett. Jarrett clamed Nash would do anything to avoid an asskicking. Jarrett told Zybzsko to put all the names in a hat and pick someone. Jarrett verbally ran down the top contender’s. Monty Brown cut Jarrett off and said he feared the “Alpha Male” and he was at the top of the food chain. Jarrett said Brown had to impress the championship committee and take out Lance Hoyt.
(4) “Alpha Male” Monty Brown defeated Lance Hoyt. Brown began with some chain wrestling before the slapping began and Hoyt hit a shoulder tackle. The match went to the floor and Brown made the Inoki people move, only to throw Hoyt back in the ring. Brown talked trash to the Inoki people and Hoyt hit a plancha to the floor. Back in the ring Brown and Hoyt traded chest chops and led the crowd with “Hoyt” punches. Hoyt went up for a moonsault but Brown got to his feet and sent Hoyt to the floor. Back in the ring Hoyt was hit with a fallaway slam and Brown went for the POUNCE but Hoyt kicked him in the face. Hoyt hit the moonsault but Brown kicked out. Brown hit a power bomb, Hoyt hit a rock bottom. Hoyt put Brown on the ropes hit Brown with European forearms but Brown reversed the Irish whip and hit the POUNCE!!!!!!!! Brown wins and could move on to the main event.
They briefly showed footage from Simon Diamond, Shark Boy and Sonjay Dutt’s trip to India. Shane Douglas spoke to BG James about their match with Team Canada when Kip James (Billy Gunn) cut in on the spot. He was sent packing by Killings and Konnan.
(5) Team Canada (Bobby Roode, “Showtime” Eric Young and A1 w/Scott D’amore) defeated 3 Live Kru (Ron Killings, Konnan and BG James). Several people called A1 a “Johnny Devine fill-in.” Konnan channeled his inner Random Task and threw his show at Young. Kip James (wearing an “I’m Kip James BITCH” shirt) sat down on the heel entry way and watched Roode tag in and be beaten down by Killings. Young and A1 distracted Killings who walked into a Roode full nelson slam. The fans chanted “New Age Outlaws” as A1 beat down Killings. Roode came in and after an exchange was hit with a Killings leg lariat. BG James tagged in to beat down all of Canada but his pin was broken up. The fighting went to the floor and Roode grabbed the flagpole/hockey stick. As Young and BG fought, Roode broke the stick over BG’s head. BG was pinned and Team Canada beat down the 3LK when Kip ran down with the chair to save BG James. Team Canada grabbed Konnan so Kip James could hit him but Kip hit A1 in the head and it looked like Kip turned face.
They played footage of the previous Ultimate X matches. (6) In an Ultimate X match to determine the number one contender to the X Division title, “Canadian Destroyer” Petey Williams (w/Scott D’amore), Matt Bentley (w/Traci Brooks) and “the Future” Chris Sabin. All three have been in this match before. Sabin and Bentley wrestled Frankie Kazarian in Nashville in June of 2003 in the inaugural one created by management consultant Don Callis. Bentley was greeted by the Pit’s “Bentley Bounce.” Williams was greeted by right hand punches and armdrags from his opponents. Williams rolled to the floor to confer with D’amore as Bentley and Sabin traded moves. When Williams came back he was hit by a Bentley suplex. Sabin went for the X but Bentley cut him off with an inverted atomic drop. While Bentley climbed the X, Brooks distracted Williams and shoved his face in her ample cleavage. Williams snapped out of his spell and cut off Bentley. Sabin powerbombed Williams into the corner, that Bentley was already standing in. All three went to the floor with planchas and finally back to the ring. Williams went for the X but Sabin cut him off, only to see both men hit with a Bentley neckbreaker/acecrusher combo move. Bentley went for the X but Sabin climbed up and POWER BOMBED from the X to the mat below. Sabin and Williams went up to the corner and threw punches. Sabin tossed Williams head first into the X rigging poles and Williams repaid by singing O’ Canada on Sabin’s crotch. Bentley recovered and tossed Williams to the floor. Sabin sent Bentley to the floor, back first. Sabin followed out, hitting both men with a moonsault. D’amore argued with Brooks as Sabin made his way back into the ring and climbed the X. Bentley knocked Sabin off with a shoulder tackle and the X came down with them. The crew quickly scrambled to replace the X. The threesome fought on the floor as the X was replaced. Sabin and Bentley climbed up and got to the X but Williams knocked down both men. Then came the weirdest ending I have ever witnessed. As both men hit the mat the X came off the rope and fell right into Williams hands to win the match.
They played footage recapping the birth of the alliance between Jeff Jarrett, Gail Kim and America’s Most Wanted.
(7) NWA World Tag Team champions America’s Most Wanted (“Tennessee Cowboy” James Storm and “Wildcat” Chris Harris w/Gail Kim) defeated the Naturals (Chase Stevens and Andy Douglas). After “last night’s” match TNA management order this immediate rematch. Douglas and Stevens charged the ring and fighting began on the floor. Douglas sent Storm out to Stevens who power bombed Storm into the ring barricades. Stevens came back to the ring as Harris begged for mercy but received none. The Naturals took turns tossing Harris into the ring barricades. Storm appeared to be seriously hurt as the Naturals choked Harris out with camera wires. Douglas was distracted by Gail Kim and Storm sucker punched him. Storm reopened the cut on Douglas’ head as the fighting came back to the ring. Stevens could only watch on as the Pit stole the Nashville manager Athena created “Kill the Cowboy” chant. Douglas was beaten pillar to post until he tagged out to Stevens who took on AMW by himself. Douglas recovered and both of AMW got involved. Stealing a spot from the Naturals playbook, Harris got some baby powder but it ended up being tossed in his eyes. Totally blinded from the powder, Harris hit Storm with the Catatonic and then was hit with the Death Sentence from the Naturals??? Just as the Natural Disaster was being delivered, Gail Kim distracted Douglas. Harris got his cuffs and cuffed Douglas to the barrier. Storm broke a beer bottle on Stevens and then AMW finished him off with the Death Sentence. After the match ended AMW taunted the still cuffed Douglas who couldn’t help his partner.
Footage played hyping the second annual Monster’s Ball match. Jim Mitchell spoke to Shane Douglas about Abyss’ child hood and some other stuff that didn’t make sense.
(8) In a monster’s ball match, Rhino defeated Sabu, Abyss (w/Jim Mitchell) and Jeff Hardy In the hype for this match TNA claimed all four men were in isolation for twenty-four hours with no food, water or sleep. Big shock the fans chanted ECW when Rhino hit the ring with a garbage can filled with goodies. Abyss brought his chain and satchel of thumbtacks. Sabu came with his trusty folding chair hand. Hardy came out last and brought out…NOTHING. Needless to say this was carnage personified and at times was very hard to follow. Sabu and Rhino fought on one side of the ring while Hardy and Abyss fought on the other side and into the crowd. Hardy went back to the ring only to fly out of it onto Abyss. Sabu’s face was busted open by Rhino and Rhino looked to be cut open as well. Abyss and Hardy came back to the ring to play with the garbage can of toys but Hardy hit Abyss with a flip but then got hit with Shock Treatment. Sabu saw this and tried to cover Hardy. Hardy used Rhino as a springboard to hit Abyss with a leg lariat. Sabu went to do the dame but kicked Hardy in the gut. Rhino hit all three men with the Kendo stick. Rhino went to GORE Abyss but he was chokeslammed on a chair for two. As Hardy and Abyss fought on the floor Sabu got a table from under the ring. Hardy got a ladder but Abyss used it as a weapon. Rhino and Sabu traded shots in the ring and around it. Sabu set up a table, with Rhino on it and hit a triple jump legdrop. Hardy topped it by climbing the TNA Entry way and hitting Abyss with a SWANTON Bomb!!! Sabu hit Rhino with a triple jump moonsault as Abyss somehow made his way back to the ring. Sabu was caught by Abyss and tossed into a table below. Rhino GORED Abyss into a table that was standing in a corner of the ring. As TNA Cameras interviewed me the violence really got out of hand as Rhino was piledriven onto a chair by Hardy. Somehow Hardy was pinned by Rhino and looked to be seriously injured by the overall events in the match. This by far was the most violent match in the three years of the promotion’s history.
Larry Zybzsko came on screen and told Shane Douglas and the fans that Jarrett would face the winner of a ten man gauntlet. They played footage recapping the history between Daniels and Styles.
(9) In a 30 minute iron man match, World X Division champion “the Phenomenal” AJ Styles defeated “Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels one fall to none. Daniels jumped Styles at the bell and then hit a press slam. Styles countered out of an armdrag and hit a backbreaker. Styles was going to the floor but Daniels got on the apron and hit Styles with a forearm. Styles and Daniels ended up on the floor again but Rudy Charles stopped Styles from going into the crowd. Styles walked away and then flew over Charles onto Daniels. Styles brought Daniels back to the ring and locked on a side headlock which Daniels couldn’t escape from. The crowd chanted, “You’re both awesome” as the match went to the mat. Styles let got and hit a shoulder tackle for two before returning to the headlock. Daniels countered out into an armbar but Styles countered back into the side headlock. Daniels Irish whipped Styles but missed the dropkick as Styles held the ropes, then kicked Daniels in the gut. Styles dragged Daniels to each top turnbuckle and drove his face into it before getting a two count. Styles stayed on Daniels kicking him in the gut again. Styles locked Daniels in a step over toe hold chinlock move but refused to submit. Styles clotheslined Daniels back in the ring but his top rope move was blocked and Daniels hit an exploder. Daniels began to work over Styles neck with a vise grip and trying to spin Styles head off completely. Styles had a rolling cradle at two but Daniels floated over into the octopus like choke but Styles somehow picked Daniels up twice and made it to the ropes. Daniels hit a springboard moonsault but got two. Styles recovered and hit the floatover into the slop drop. Styles hit Daniels with several clotheslines followed by a back suplex. This was followed by a pump handle gutbuster for two. Styles was going for a springboard move but Daniels caught him and hit a DVD for two. Daniels pit Styles on the top rope and hit a Blue Thunder Driver or Falcon’s Arrow for two. Styles recovered but Daniels hit another Falcon’s Arrow and the BME but got two. At 10:45. Styles countered out of a waist lock and locked in the human torture rack and a Burning Hammer for two. Both men ended up on the floor after hitting topes. Daniels and Styles got back o nth ring apron but both fell off the apron and it looked like a power bomb. I have no idea how both men got back in the ring since Styles had a huge blood bruise on his outer left thigh. Daniels went for a bodyslam but Styles didn’t let go and got a two count at 3:13. Daniels went for a German suplex but Styles weight fell into Daniels face. Styles hit a bodyblock but Daniels floated through and had a hand full of tights for two as the ONE minute count came shortly. The two men traded pin attempts but at about 2 seconds left Daniels was pinned by the Styles Clash. Both men were given a standing ovation for this excellent match. After Styles left the ring, reality sunk in Daniels head that he lost the match with two seconds left.
A promo for TNA’s November PPV Genesis played.
(10) In the gauntlet to face NWA World Heavyweight champion Jeff Jarrett, Rhino advanced to the main event. The participants entered in this order (who eliminated them will be in the parentheses) (1) Samoa Joe (tossed by Abyss) (2) Ron Killings (tossed by Styles and Joe) (3) Sabu (tossed by Rhino) (4) Lance Hoyt (tossed by Rhino) (5) Abyss (tossed by Rhino) (6) Jeff Hardy (tossed by Brown) (7) Monty Brown (tossed by Hardy) (8) Rhino (9) Kip James (tossed by Abyss) (10) AJ Styles (tossed by Abyss). Random thoughts: Killings mocked Joe’s earlier Samoan entry in his match with Liger, Joe made him pay. When Abyss hit the ring he and Joe traded chest chops. I have no idea how Hardy was able to make it to the ring let alone compete. I think the crowd was pissed when Styles came out as number ten and not Raven.
(11) Rhino won the NWA World Heavyweight championship by defeating Jeff Jarrett (w/special referee Tito Ortiz.) As the match began TNA security rolled out a coffin to ringside. Jarrett took full advantage of the worn down Rhino. Jarrett took Rhino to the floor and the ring barricade (hitting my friend Arianna in the process). Finally Ortiz got the match back in the ring and Jarrett hit Rhino wit ha top rope clothesline. Jarrett went up top again but Rhino caught him and dropped him on the boot, crotch first. Gail Kim came out as Rhino missed the GORE and she distracted Ortiz long enough for Jarrett to hit Rhino with the guitar. AMW followed suit and as Jarrett went for the guitar shot Rhino hit the GORE to win the World title. After the bell AMW, Kim and Jarrett attacked Rhino. 3 Live Kru came out and jumped in, followed by Team Canada. The casket went in the ring and AMW, Team Canada and Jarrett locked Rhino in the casket. Team 3D (fresh from Japan) hit the ring and beat down all the heels. As the show went black, Rhino stood on the casket the new NWA World Heavyweight champion. Jarrett stood on the announce table mocking Tenay and West. Devon and Ray attacked Jarrett. Jarrett took the house mic and told Team 3D and 3LK they were going to have a ten man match at TV on Tuesday or Wednesday. Konnan took the mic saying the Dudley Boys were back in town (yeah he called them the Dudley) and Rhino was the new World champion. Ray took the mic and said Team 3D had been all over the world and said the PPV was the best. BG James said the pop was Road Warriors circa 1986. Did I mention all through this Eric Young was locked inside the casket? Jarrett and Rhino mocked each other on the house mic before Team 3D led the crowd in a TNA chant. Young was finally let out of the casket but he got hit by a GORE from Rhino. The crowd chanted “Thank You Rhino.”
I felt the PPV was great except I didn’t like Raven being excluded from the main event. In a storyline sense he is the rightful number one contender to the World title. While I thought TNA did a good job of making up for the lack of Nash, I would have preferred a different way of having the World title match. I also felt the match of the evening were each and everyone. I hope people bought this PPV and if they didn’t talk them into getting it, well worth the money.
Preview: Brandon P vs. Tank This Saturday in Cornelia, Brandon P will get his hands on Tank in a No Holds Barred fight as part of NWA Anarchy's big Fright Night 2005 event. Back in June, Brandon P suffered a shoulder injury at the hands of Murder One that kept him out of action for two months. When he returned, a "mystery voice" addressed Brandon, challenging him to face "Psycho" Scottie Wrenn. Brandon accepted the challenge, and pinned Wrenn. But the mystery voice wasn't done yet. He (or she) claimed that they were assembling an army, and that a storm was coming to NWA Anarchy. The next recruit was revealed to be Azrael. Brandon soon found an ally in Slim J, and as the two were fighting against Azrael, Tank made his way to the ring. The long-time fan favorite (and former Commissioner of Anarchy) shocked everyone when he attacked Brandon & Slim. To make matters worse, Tank's partner Iceberg came to the ring and joined the mayhem. Tank, Iceberg and Azrael all stood tall in the ring, and it became clear that the voice, whoever it was, had indeed assembled an army.
Brandon demanded a match with Tank at Fright Night, but matchmaker Al Getz initially refused Brandon's request. On October 15th, Getz signed a TV title match with Jeff Lewis defending against Brandon. The winner would go on to Fright Night to defend against Slim J. It seemed odd that Getz would put Brandon in a situation where he might have to wrestle his friend at Fright Night. But it never came to that, as when the bell rang, Brandon blatantly kicked Lewis in the nether regions, getting disqualified. He told Getz that for now, he didn't care about titles, he wanted revenge on Tank. So Getz made the match for Fright Night, but in a surprise, he made it a No Holds Barred fight.
The stipulations of this match certainly seem to play into Tank's favor. He has a background in mixed martial arts competition, as well as having competed in death match tournaments. But Brandon is thirsty for retribution, and it just may come at the expense of Tank this Saturday night. It's been made clear that while Tank is signed for this match at Fright Night, Iceberg & Azrael are not welcome in the building. The questions remains: will they show up? And if so, will they be alone? Rumors are running rampant that the "mystery voice" will indeed be present at Fright Night. Will these questions be answered, or will we end up with even more questions?
Preview: Four-Way Scramble Tag Team Match
On October 29th, four tag teams will step into the ring for Anarchy's first-ever Scramble Match. Cru Jones & Ken Westbrooks, Pomp & Circumstance, The Texas Treats, and Jeremy V & Jason Blackman will all be looking to come out on top of what is sure to be a wild encounter. The rules for a scramble match are slightly different from those of a standard tag team match. Two wrestlers will be in the ring, but if one gets thrown outside of the ring, any other wrestler can take his place in the ring without having to be tagged in. The match will be reminiscent of the great lucha libre matches featured on WCW Monday Nitro several years back, with non-stop action.
Cru Jones & Ken Westbrooks - Both men have athletic backgrounds, Cru in football and Ken in amateur wrestling. The two have teamed up on numerous occasions, but have gelled very well together in their most recent outings, including a victory over former Anarchy Tag Team champions 3 Guys Who Totally Rule. They lost to The Texas Treats in the first round of the Mysterious Benefactor Memorial Tag Team tournament in August, and will certainly be looking to avenge that defeat.
Pomp & Circumstance - Pomp & Circumstance returned to Cornelia on August 6th, taking on The Lost Boys. Ace Rockwell was knocked silly by a double-stomp off the top rope from Gabriel, and his partner Shaun Tempers had to compete in the Mysterious Benefactor tournament by himself. Shockingly, he made it past the first-round, but ended up being eliminated when he and 3 Guys went to a double countout. 3 Guys were embarassed to have not been able to beat one wrestler. Ace finally received medical clearance to wrestle, and was scheduled to team with Tempers against 3 Guys on October 8th in Nashville as part of the annual NWA convention. However, the night before, he was beat up outside of a nightclub by unknown assailants. He suffered injuries to his face and leg, but has been cleared to wrestle and will compete at Fright Night.
The Texas Treats - Don Juan & Chris Marval surprised a lot of people on August 20th by making it to the finals of the Mysterious Benefactor tournament. This is their first match in Anarchy since that tournament, and they are out to prove that it wasn't a fluke. They are the only team in this match with prior experience in a Scramble Match, and that experience could spell the difference.
Jeremy V & Jason Blackman - The newest team in NWA Anarchy is the final team entered in this bout. On October 15th, Jeremy V said he needed someone to watch his back, and introduced the very high-strung Blackman as his partner. Blackman has his share of enemies in the dressing room, and Jeremy V certainly hasn't won any popularity contests as of late. Their lack of experience as a team is made up for by the balance of size, ability, and power amongst the two men.
This match, along with many others, will take place at NWA Anarchy's Fright Night 2005 on October 29th in Cornelia, GA. Tomorrow we will preview the No Holds Barred fight between Brandon P and Tank.
Preview: Gabriel vs. Todd Sexton in Respect Match In the early stages of NWA Anarchy, Todd Sexton was trying to find his identity. He wanted to move into the upper echelon of the roster, but fell short in matches against Ray Gordy and then-Heavyweight champion Rainman. At Hostile Environment, he scored a breakthrough victory over Tony Mamaluke, making the Italian Monster tap out. His rivalry with Mamaluke over, he asked Tony to team with him on August 20th for the Mysterious Benefactor Memorial Tag Team tournament. In the first round, they faced The Lost Boys. In a hard-fought battle, The Lost Boys got the victory. After the bout, the men showed respect for one another and went to shake each others' hands. Before Todd could shake the hand of Gabriel, he spit in his face, prompting a pull-apart brawl. It was later revealed that Todd has no respect for Gabriel, claiming that Gabriel was "the chosen one", handpicked to be a star, but he constantly blew his opportunities.
The two had their first one-on-one encounter on September 3rd. Gabriel, back in singles competition after The Lost Boys had split up, scored a huge victory over Todd, but Todd attacked him after the match, again showing a lack of respect. In a rematch two weeks later, Todd won the match, but it took drastic measures to do so. As the two were fighting outside of the ring, Todd gave Gabriel a piledriver on top of the ring steps. With the series evened at 1 win apiece, it looked like the feud would end due to injuries suffered by Gabriel as a result of the vicious move. However, Todd wouldn't let it die, as he mocked Gabriel two weeks later, coming out to his music and even dressing up like him, complete with a fake blond wig. On October 15th, Todd claimed he wanted to apologize to Gabriel, and called him out. But instead of Gabriel, it was someone dressed up like Gabriel, and the two continued to make fun of him. But little did they know the REAL Gabriel was waiting in the wings, and he hit the ring and attacked both of them.
Todd Sexton has repeatedly shown he has absolutely no respect for Gabriel. Thus, the two are signed to face off in a respect match. The loser of this bout MUST shake the hand of the winner. The match will take place on October 29th at Fright Night in Cornelia, GA
It was GCW’s first show since undergoing a name change. Erik Watts defeated Kevin Northcutt via DQ in main event. Former PCW (Texas) champion Mike Foxx made the save for Watts. This was said to be a good match. Disco Inferno’s TV title defense against A. J. Steele was described as an excellent match.
A long time observer of GCW said tonight’s show was much better quality than last Saturday’s event, a show that was widely considered to be the worst in the company’s 18 month history. Attendance was said to be in the 250 range. Elix Skipper, David Young and Chris Stevens, core members of GCW’s talent roster, are scheduled to back in Columbus next week.

HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION SCOTTIE GASH ISSUES CHALLENGE
NWA Pro Wrestling Express Heavyweight Champion Scottie Gash has been fired, attacked, and been the relentless target of 987, but on October 15th when 987 members stole his title belt, it was the last straw!!! The members of Rage have issued a challenge for anyone in 987: if anyone has the guts, bring the championship belt to the ring at Halloween Hell and face Scottie Gash in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs Match! In response, 987's Scott Venom said that "I don't really see any reason for us to do this, because after all, we have the belt back and Scottie Gash doesn't work here anymore, he was fired". Will any member of 987 accept the challenge of Gash and Rage?
TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS ISSUE A CHALLENGE OF THEIR OWN
Along with Gash, fellow Rage members Quinn Magnum and Brandon K, the reigning NWA Pro Wrestling Express Tag Team Champions, have issued a challenge to 987 as well. " If they want the titles, have two of them come face us on our terms on October 29th," said Magnum. Once again, there has been no acceptance of the challenge from 987's camp, but you can be sure that if the match is on Rage's terms, there is sure to be weapons involved! 987 has said that they can take the tag titles at anytime, and that Magnum & K are not worthy of holding the titles, but will anyone accept the challenge, and try to get the title belts from Rage?
ALLANOV FACES 987's VENOM IN A LUMBERJACK MATCH
Scott Venom thought that he was saving himself a headache when he didn't get Nikita Allanov fired, but instead, he seems to have pissed the "Soviet Shooter" off, and become the Russian's next target. Allanov went over the Championship Committee's head directly to NWA-PWX Promoter Jim Miller, who signed for Allanov and Venom to square off in a Lumberjack Match at Halloween Hell. What will happen when Allanov gets his hands on a member of 987 when the sides are finally even?
ATLAS CHALLENGES SMYTHE
"Wrestling's Savior" Paul Atlas has issued a challenge to #1 Daron Smythe for a match that Atlas claims will stick out with its unique stipulation. "I am challenging Daron Smythe to an actual wrestling match," said Atlas. "No weapons, no goofy rules, just a pure wrestling match." Atlas, who is claiming to have returned to the ring after a year long retirement to "save wrestling" from the spectacle it has become, was deadly serious in his challenge to Smythe, whom Atlas claims has no respect for the sport, or what Atlas has done for his career in the past. Will Smythe accept the challenge from his former mentor?
EXTASY WANTS SUSPENSION LIFTED FOR JAMES
Three Rivers Champion Eric Extasy has issued a challenge of his own, only his challenge is to NWA-PWX Senior Official Shawn Patrick, the Championship Committee, and Jim Miller - lift the suspension of Seth James. The "Sexual Icon" wants nothing more than to get payback against James for what the vicious and unprovoked attack on Krystal Frost before the October 15th card, and he wants a match with James at Halloween Hell. Will Extasy be convincing enough to get the ban lifted, so that he can square off with the "Big Stiff" on October 29th?
HAMMER WANTS A TITLE MATCH WITH BHUDAKAHN
After being embarrassed repeatedly by Apocalypse members Armageddon, who are under the control of Devil Bhudakahn, the Tri Chi Fraternity has had enough. And, after having the Brass Knuckles Title slip thru his fingers, Sam "Hammer" Slej wants only one thing - five minutes alone with Devil Bhudakahn in a PWX ring. Will the newly crowned Brass Knuckles Champion step up to the plate and defend his title against a formidable challenger, or will other members of Apocalypse do his bidding for him?
