| Cru Jones, Shaun Banks, and Colt Derringer quickly put Hot Like Lava on the 2009 wrestling map. All had a great 2008 by being voted in the GW.TK Top 50 ( Cru- #2, Shaun- #6, Colt- #21), Shaun was voted Crusierweight wrestler of the year, while Cru was voted heel of the year and was voted as mic worker of the year. The tandem of Cru and Shaun also took home the title of Tag Team of the year for 2008.The month of February saw Shaun, Cru, and Colt dominated everywhere they went. The Duo of Cru and Shaun captured every title in GCW in the month of February. Shaun holds the interstate title and 1/2 of the tag titles, while Cru holds the heavyweight title and 1/2 of the tag titles with Shaun. On top of that Cru, Shaun, and Colt where a part of one of the biggest swerves in RPW, they turned on Chip Day and foiled Dr. Gayton's plans once again, at the same time becoming RPW's first every Tag Team champions. All are threats in Tag and Singles competition; Shaun is a multiple title holder in Chatsworth, while Cru is the reigning FCW champion in Carrolton, and Colt is the reigning SECW champion in Carrolton.
