History:
West Creek was named after a family that settled on the creek in the mid 1800s. The West Creek watershed still sustains important, but declining, populations of Coho salmon as well as Cutthroat and Rainbow trout. Native runs of Chum salmon still exist but have been supplemented for many years by hatchery stock.
