I don't know about you, but our pets are a big part of our lives. At present, we have 3 dogs. Sandy, a German Shepherd Mix, who's 12; Betty, a Beagle Mix who's about 3; and Sophie, a Sheltie Mix, who's 6 months old. A few months back we lost our dog Maggie, a Flat Coated Retriever, who was around 9. We had her for almost 8 years. She was the light in her "Dad's" eyes. She was his fishing buddy, his McDonald's drive-thru buddy and all around outdoor companion. He misses her very much still. We had Bear, the Black Lab, who lived to be 15 years old, and Teddy, the Australian Shephard, who lived to the ripe old age of 17. As you can see, dogs are a major part of our lives.
