Out of all the FF games, I'd have to say this one was my favourite. If anyone has that little "love story w/ a side of very silent male," you'd probably feel a connection with FF8 (mine happens to be the overly quiet type.) Although for gameplay, I found myself around lv. 20 when I reached the final area, whereas in other FF games, I usually had to level up just to get past the first two. Good story, though.

Graphics: 9.0/10
Graphics widely exceeded FF7's. They made the characters their actual height (in game standards -- FF7 had the chibi chars, but I do have to admit they were kind of cute) you could find everything quite easily that you had to (like magazines on the ground and such.) If you've ever played the game "Metal Gear Solid" on the Playstation, the graphics were like those.

Music: 9.2/10
I bought the soundtrack to this one also. A lot of the music was catchy. I especially liked the "Eyes on Me" vocal, and a lot of the music would make you want to hop online and download it (but, thanks to the oh-so-dandy jerks at the RIAA -- and yes, I have something against them -- you can't.)

Storyline: 8.8/10
Even though I loved the storyline, some people really hated it. Either they don't like the idea of the story, or the fact that there are sorceresses and such in it, or
whatever the case may be, they just don't like it. *shrug* You have to play the game to see if you like it or not.

Overall: 9.1/10
This game's really straightfoward, so there's not really too much exploring in other areas you can do (that was something about FF7 that I really liked.) They usually tell you where you have to head next to get through the game. Although, there may be parts of the game where you find yourself stuck and end up having to go online and find a walkthrough and whatnot.
