I knew when he walked into the place

And your looks forever left my body

And face

That I was part of a long line

Of those easily/quickly replaced

And I was hurt at first

My self-importance erased

Then those looking (anyone)

Could see a chagrined look on my face

As I smiled

Got on with life

And walked away.
