Loss Of Control Interview

Question by: Gee
Answer by: Sam

1. Hell-o bro! Have any news in LOC camp these days?

Hey man thanks for this interview it's been awhile since we've had one from the more credible peoples. We are busy finishing up on the album which will be our first target launch date is on june 6, 2006, aside from that well we just try to stay alive, provide for our loved ones and hommies and induldge in every fucking thing we want to hahaha

2. Can you introduce LOC to our readers, history, line-up etc?

The band started back in 95, the old line - up did not include me it was three of my close friends from back in school they used play shit like quicksand, helmet, orange 9mm, tool etc. I joined in sometime in 99 and tthings progressed from that point. I just wanted to sound as fucked up as I could a sort of reflection of what grows in me through the influence of my sorroundings. Allan came along then we met Gil and eventually Gani and now we feel and know that we are at the right place and time to unleash our demons onto everything out there.

3. About the band name Loss of Control, why do you choose that as your band name? Do you think that it will fit in your musical style?

I did not choose this name, we keep this name because the message is universal, we have anarchistic, nihilistic and satanic leanings in our ideaology and also because we owe it all to the founding member who came up with it Andoni Sionosa who died in a car crash, he was my best friend and comrade in sin and despair he will always be remembered by us... always.

4. What are your musical and non-musical influences?

I'll speak for myself on this one, Allan can tell you about his... I am fascinated with Urban Decay, filth on the streets, Art, sex, lots of it, porn, violence, indulgence, hate, REVENGE, chaos and NEGATIVITY in general and in spec ifics. anything that sounds or looks like that is/are my influences.

5. As I observe, your previous materials are into grindcore stuffs... And this time, I feel that it is more intense and brutal. Can you explain why you guys switch your musical approach?

I always say that I am not into sports and that LOC IS my sport therefore naturally you improve and become more stronger and faster like a killer on his 9th, 10th 11th and so on victim it just gets worse and worse

6. How do you compare your old materials to your new materials?

We wrote those songs at a time when that was the best we could do, we always push ourselves to the edge... till it hurts and hurts more and we become numb to it so take in more and push ourselves more.

7. How do you write your songs? What are your lyrics all about?

Our lyrics are about all the things mentioned in your previous question(no.4) Gil usually came up with the drum tracks first then I add in my share Allan writes most of it Gani and I help him out a bit at times. It all starts with one's vision the rest give direction and we all execute.

8. What are your favorite local and foreign bands?

I am a big Scott Hull fan, now I really like Down from the wound, Pus Vomit, Sauna, Copremesis, Goratory, Gorguts,Origin I also recently developed an addiction to the Alkaline trio I'm too stoned right now to remember more hahaha

9. I know that Gil is also a drummer of Religious Nightmare... Do you have any problems or conflicts with him playing live shows?

Religious nightmare are our brothers we always play together and hangout together we all work and kill ourselves together and we get through it to play as best we can that's all it is.

10. Aside from Loss of Control, do you have any side projects?

Yeah, I do session work for some bands here and there for cash sometimes, I'm working on an experimental grind band and a death rock thing as well.

11. Do you have any interest to collaborate in the international death metal scene?

Mos Def, we dream of that everynight if we manage to sleep hahaha

12. Are you searching labels to release your materials? And are their labels interested releasing LOC materials?

More on Distros I guess, we are still planning and working on that these days maybe you can help us?:)

13. Your materials are really brutal as hell! But Ive noticed that since your long existence of the band, you havent got any releases yet, are their some conflicts or problems? Im just curious

Yes that is true but I believe that it all right because we are only ready to release something right now, only now have we reached our desired form everything in the past was just part of the process like a fly larva and shit.

14. What are your views in Philippine death metal scene?

The world ain't ready for third world brutality and sickness they always under estimate us and that's where we plan to fucking hit them. right in the fucking mouth.

15. If you got any chance to do a split release with Philippine bands and foreign bands, what bands would you choose and why?

Any band that sounds like the way we feel, or resembles an emotion we have inside will do. Because it's all about that.

16. Ive read your band bio in LOC myspace page, and it said that you guys are the new champion of the of the Philippine extreme music scene. What are the meanings behind of those words?

I don't really remember who wrote that, we just sent mail to some people to write something about us I guess it was his or her view, we just wanna get fucking wasted and rip the fucking stage floor open to see into hell.

17. There are some people who criticized LOC. And they said that LOC is not an underground metal band. Because you are playing gigs together with the mainstream bands like in pulp gigs etc... What can you say about them? Any comments?

We do, take, destroy and fuck whatever we want. We do not stand for abstinence at all. We could care less about what people think or say and sometimes it's better to let them think whatever till they go fucking mad and sound stupid. We just don't let our shit get compromised in any way as long as they let us do it our way we'll play, I think we also have a responsibility to infiltrate and steal the lost kids and turn them on to us and you guys as well.

18. What can we expect in LOC in the near future? Any upcoming releases, gigs etc?

Hell on Earth, maybe a few arrests or even a grizzly murder and I hope for a malicious sex scandal hahaha Album launch on June 6, expect a gig with that and the second album hopefully next year.

19. We will end up this interview thanks a lot for your time Any last words?

Human Mastication our brothers from the south keep it fucking sick and evil, thanks so much Gee I hope we get to hang out sometime or play there soon:) "Life is the Great Indugence, Death is the great abstinence" so celebrate life til death! Thanks again keep in touch man
