A Good Day For Killing Interview

1. Hi Ekkachai... What's up bro? I hope everything is fine in you and your band AGDFK... Can you give us a short history of AGDFK?

Gory Greetings Gee... Yeah I'm fine thanks, hope you are ok as well. Everything in our sick-camp started in mid of year 2002 when I and Sittichai were thinking to form a brutal band, and then I met Saken who had played in grind/punk band named 'Pus of Social'. I asked him to form the band together under the purpose to play the brutal musick as fast and sick as we could, and he agreed. That was the beginning of AGDFK. In March 2003 we released a 4-track reh. demo titled 'AssAsSin' and spread over 300 copies to the underground scenes worldwide. At that time we still had no bass player, but in May 2004 Norathep joined the band as a bass player, the line-up was first time complete. Months later we recorded 3 new songs for the 4 way split CD called 'Siamese Brutalism Assault!!'. Not long after recording Norathep left the band because of his personal problems. Anyway the split was released end of year 2004, and it was the most brutal split CD ever released from Thailand!!!! And about 3 months ago Norathep decided to came back to play with us again with more powerful. Now we're preparing the new materials for the next killing!!!

2. A Good Day For Killing, the name sounds into brutal/gore concept. Why you choose that name? What are the meanings?

I think you know what it means, same as everybody knows what it means. It's a really simple/common word that everybody can understand since the first time they hear this word, don’t you agree?? We love this name because of this reason, simple and easy to get the meaning, but as you said it sounds really into brutal/gore and awesome in the same time. So we think it's a good name for a brutal band like us haha.

3. Lately, you have released a debut demo tape called ASSAsSIN, how was the response from the zines, webzines etc...? Are you satisfied with it?

Yes, we released that demo in March 2003 as I told you in the first question. We tried to spread our demo as much as we could, mostly we traded with bands, distros or labels. And of course we sent the promos to zines and webzines also. We got kinda positive reviews from them. They liked our musick but sometimes they commented us about the sound that not so clear, yes we agreed with them 'coz it was a reh demo. Anyway we are satisfied with the responses. That demo was our first step.

4. Have you sent your demo material to the labels? Has any label interested to release your material?

Of course we sent, but there's no label interests to release our works. Perhaps our musick should be developed or otherwise we should change our style into Hip-Hop or something like that hahaha, just kidding man. We're still fighting, and it's not the most important matter that there will be any label supports us or not. The real and most important thing for us is our musick and our style. We'll never change it, we'll play what we want to and no one can command us. So if there's no label interests us, we will release our works by ourselves. It's not a fucking problem dude.

5. About your 4way split called "Siamese Brutalism Assault", who got the idea/plan about this release?

Sunyalux from Lacerate and Thanit from Deathguy originated this sickest idea. As the album title 'Siamese Brutalism Assault!!', their goal was to gather the real and true Siamese brutal/death bands to assault the underground scenes by releasing the split CD. And at first our band would not include on this split due to there was another brutal band named 'Nameless Author' would feature on the split. But due to Nameless... in that moment had many problems within their band, so they had to cancel joining the split. Then Sunyalux and Thanit invited AGDFK to replace Nameless... and we just said "Let's do it" haha.

6. This is 100% self released of 4 bands involved in this split cd, thus any label interest to rerelease this brutal shit?

Yeah it's 100% self released. Actually Vrykoblast Prod from Singapore interested to release this shit, they would like to help us to spread this split in their country and other countries around the world. But due to some problems this couldn't happen. So we released this fucking shit by ourselves then.

7. About one of your song entitled Set Children Free (by Killing), what is that mean? Set free the Children by killing? Am i right? What is your motivation in that lyrics?

Yes, you are right! The motivation to write this song was the violence and the cruelty that became a part of our fucking world, society and even if our family as an ordinary. We live with brutality and this world full of fucking shit!! The only way that can help the kids to avoid those shits is sending them to other world before they grow up and live like us. Anyway that's just the idea to write the lyric. We would not go out and kill every kid we meet as in the lyric. We are not stupid, lyric is lyric. We play brutal musick, so the lyrics should be written in brutal and sick way. You know what I mean.

8. If you have an authority or chance to create/build a new law or rule in Thailand, what are those? ehhehe..

FREE FUCK!!! wherever and whenever you want. Fucking outside is legal and every one has to do. And when you are 18 years old you have to fuck, virgin not allowed. If you're a virgin, you're breaking the law. And you will be punished by being raped from 50 sadistic men/women. Cool!?? hahaha.

9. What are your influences writing your lyrics? and who is the responsible in the writing process?

I usually bring the matters from the ruthless stories that I have heard(may be from the news!!) or the horror movies to mix with my insane perverse imaginations. And the results are our lyrics. I'm the only one who write the lyrics for AGDFK but as for the musick we all compose and arrange it in jam studio together.

10. What can you say about the brutal scene in your country Thailand nowadays? Any recomended bands?

A bit boring!! There are not much good quality brutal bands here. Although now there are new young bands rise up from the pits of shit and release their demos/promos, but honestly their works should be improved. Anyway I think for some bands if we give them a chance they can progress and could be the good bands in the future. Well I can recommend you good bands here like Lacerate, Deathguy and also She's Gore, they are all on our 4 way split. Including the old-school death band like Heretic Angels. As for the other kinds besides brutal/death like grindcore or goregrind I can recommend these bands Biosycunt(porno goregrind), Failure Trace(old-school grind), Granulocytic Blastoma(goregrind) and Masochist(ultra grind).

11. Do you have any plans to have a show here in Philippines or a South East Asia tour? Hehehe

Don't have yet. But if any organizers can offer us only some air plane tickets and place to sleep, we can perform in your locals. And you will see what the real chaos is!!! hehehe.

13. Aside in your band AGDFK, Do you guys have any project?

I and Norathep our bassist also play in another grindcore band named 'Masochist'. By I'm a screamer and Norathep plays bass same as in AGDFK. And you know Sunyalux the vocalist of Lacerate also plays drum for this band, and the guitarist came from the band named 'Shambles'(rip), also we have another growl vocalist, so this band has 2 vocalists. We've just released a promo titled 'Kill for Orgasm'. This promo contains our 2 own songs and 1 cult cover 'Boneyard' of Impetigo(this webzine has reviewed our promo, read it fuckers!). Well for Saken and Sittichai, they play in AGDFK only.

14. What are you guys doin aside in the band? Any works, hobbies etc...?

I and Sittichai just graduated and still finding a job. I'm now also selling second hand shoes at my local weekend market to make some earnings while I'm unemployed. Saken and Norathep is still in school, they would graduate in 1-2 years.

15. I'm just curious, when did you start listening and playing brutal music? And how does it feel bro? eheheh..

About 7 years ago I bought my first brutal tape. It was Cannibal Corpse - Gallery of Suicide. I think that was the first time I heard brutal musick, I felt like being pounded by 10 kg hammers hehehe. From that moment on I have been buried in the pit of brutality. Brutal musick became a part of my life, it's already nailed in my vein, it's my life style. I started playing brutal musick 5 years ago in my previous band named 'Unknown', but at that time we only played cover songs and as the name we were unknown hahaha. Anyway that was the beginning of me.

16. Name your 5 favorite bands and their albums all the time...

Classic question, but hard to answer...

Brodequin - all albums(I prefer their new one)
Internal Suffering - all albums(but their new one disappointed me a bit)
Disgorge(US) - all albums
Disavowed - Perceptive Deception
Cryptopsy - None So Vile and Blasphemy Made Flesh

17. What can we expect in AGDFK in the near future? Any upcuming killer shows etc..? Does the full length are now in the works?

Actually on last 11th June we would perform as a supported band for Vrykolakas from Singapore in a gig called 'Bang-Cock' fest 2005. But due to the grandmother of our drummer just passed away, so we had to cancel the show, it's regretted. Anyway in next month, on 16th July we have chance to perform on the same stage with the fucking great brutal band from Sweden 'INSISION'!!! in their South East Asian tour, and Thailand will be the first place that they perform. About our full length, we still don't have plan yet but around the end of this year or early next year we will release the MCD, unofficially entitled as 'Sickest Sadism'!! Just prepare for our sickest maltreatment!!!!
