10.20, Lohner
Biplane fighter. The 10.20 had an unusually deep and short fuselage.
In this form the aircraft showed unsufficient control even during
taxying trials, and the fuselage was lengthened and the rudder
surface increased before flight. Handling was still poor and the
aircraft was modified again. The second prototype had a large dorsal
fin and a different wing structure. Two built.

20.14, Phoenix
       The Phonix 20.14 was developed from the {Hansa-Brandenburg D I}
biplane fighter. It had a deeper forward fuselage, which
eliminated the wing cabane. However, the cockpit was cut deep
into the fuselage, so that the pilot had no view straight forward.
Sesquiplane wings were fitted. It was abandoned in favour of the
{20.15}, which had better performance. One built.

20.15, Phoenix
       This too was a development of the {Hansa-Brandenburg D I}, with a
similar deep forward fuselage as the {20.14}. Performance was little
improved, but handling was much better. One built.
20.16, Phoenix
Yet another development of the {Hansa-Brandenburg D I}, again like
the {20.14} with a deepened fuselage and sequiplane wings. Handling
was not very good, and the prototype was modified with wings similar
to that of the {20.15}. One built.

       Reengined {Phoenix D III}, powered by a 225hp Austro-Daimler
       engine. One built.
20.24, Phoenix
       Biplane fighter. The 20.24 was a new design ({the Phoenix D II}
       and {Phoenix D III} were developments of the {Phoenix D I}). It
was an excellent aircraft, but did not enter production, because of
       the end of WWI.

Aviatik company. The prototype was lost on its first flight, but
the {30.19}, {30.20} and {30.21} prototypes lead to the
       {Aviatik D I}.

40.15, Lloyd
Triplane fighter. The two upper wings were attached to the upper and
lower parts of the fuselage, the lowest wing was attached to the
landing gear. The two lower wings were cantilever. Only one was
       built.

40.16, Lloyd
Biplane fighter. The upper wing was attached to the deep,
rectangular fuselage in front of the cockpit; the lower wing
was attached to it aft of the cockpit. Because of this heavy
stagger, both wings were strutted to the fuselage, but not to
       each other. One built.

50.14, Oeffag CF
Wooden triplane fighter. Despite its powerful engine, the 40.15 had
unimpressive performance. It was heavy and unwieldy. Its
configuration was considered outmoded in 1918. One built.
       Type: 50.14

70.01, Knoller
Single-seat biplane fighter, of wooden construction. The 70.01 was
to some extent a 'variable geometry' aircraft: the flexible wing
was designed to adapt itself to the speed of the aircraft. The
development was abandoned at the end of WWI.
       Type: 70.01
       Country: Austria-Hungary
       Function: fighter
       Year: 1917 Crew: 1 Engines: 1 * 230hp Hiero

80.05, W.K.F.
Triplane fighter, of wooden construction with plywood fuselage
skinning. The view from the cockpit was judged extremely poor,
and the 80.05 was flown only a few times. One built.
       Type: 80.05
       Country: Austria-Hungary
       Function: fighter
       Year: 1917 Crew: 1 Engines: 1 * 200hp Austro-Daimler

80.06, W.K.F.
The 80.06 had a fuselage similar to that of the 80.05, but was a
biplane. The performance was good enough to result in production
orders, but the programme was halted by the end of WWI. Two built,
       plus one {80.10} and a {80.12}.

111.03, Lohner
Development of the {10.20}B second prototype, that was also known
as the 111.02. The 111.03 was a bit more conventional than its
predecessors. It was abandoned anyway, in favour of license-
production of the {Aviatik D I}. One built.

111.04, Lohner
Triplane fighter. The 111.04 shared the deep fuselage and long

Hansa-Brandenburg D I
Biplane fighter, a design of Ernst Heinkel. The most notable feature
of the D I was the 'Spider' arrangment of the wing struts; the four

inhibited the view of the pilot, and the D I was unstable. About 200

and was very sturdy, but it was not very fast. It remained in
service to the end of WWI. 140 built.

The D III was basically a development of the {Phoenix D II} with
new wings, which had ailerons on all four wings instead of only
on the upper wing. No D IIIs were delivered to the Austrian
airforces, because of the end of WWI; about 20 were bought by
Sweden, that also built 10 more.

Ufag C I
       The Ufag C I was a development of the {Hansa-Brandenburg C II},

latter at high altitude but better at low altitude; hence the
Ufag C I was used as low-altitude tactical reconaissance aircraft.
