The Three Demons
“What have I created?” pondered the alchemist. “What monstrosity have I introduced to the world?” Curiosity certainly killed the cat. “I have unlocked the secret of the elixir of life and now I repent.” The alchemist closed his eyes. His hands trembled, his lips quivered, and blood rushed to his head. Out of nowhere, a diabolical scream escaped his mouth.
Then, a second pair of eyes appeared in the dark laboratory. A grimy hand rose from a table, choking the poor alchemist. Gasps and muffled screams were scarcely heard as the demon slowly stole his creator's life away.
The demon was long gone when the alchemist regained consciousness. His throat was torn open and the puddle of blood next to him gave him a clear window into his previous insanity. He could not speak but instead mumbled painful cries for help. The deranged scientist then understood everything. All became clear. With his final thoughts he cursed his creator, Adam.
