the church against theology of liberation

The last and strongest movement in christianity is the theology of liberation. Basically, it states that you can't save a soul if you don't save the stomach first. The profound content of socialism in this doctrin, that comes from the influence of jesuits missionaries in Southamerica, goes against the interest of many powerful religious groups inside the Catholic Church.
What amazes me is that Pope Benedict XVI was in charge of the committee of study (Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith) that rejected to apply this idea widely in the Catholic Curch. The reason? The Church doesn't believe that any marxist ideas (or other) should be welded into the official doctrine. The soul is the soul, the body is the body, and if you die of hunger you must thank God for the salvation of your inmortal soul.
In fact, every church is doing the same. No church in the world is doanting for economic development and their missionaries are not doing works like Red Cross or Engineers Without Borders. I think they just want profitable faithful people to join their organizations.
