From my point of view, vote should be mandatory in USA, like in most latinamerican countries, and optional (to vote USAmerican president) in the rest of the world. Let accept USA is ruling us and promote an ammendment to give the satellite countries the rights they must have. That would end up things the right way.

We had a hurricane in Uruguay two weeks ago. Weather scientists knew months ago it could happen. Brasil gave us the alert. For a small country like mine (about the size of Washington), it was brutal. Only six people died among the two million that live on the south but about 50 millions of dollars got lost in a country that was still in an economical crisis because of the summer drought and the winter inundations. The reason weather experts didn't alert: a presidential order to NOT give alerts. They say it's because a false alarm would be a disaster for the economy, with businesses closing to prepare.

Maybe the executive power in USA did the same reasoning.

I think we have to change the Uruguayan touristic brochures from "mild subtropical weather" to "what the hell?".

A friend of mine saw a big meteorite over Madrid two weeks ago.
