Hatred
I'm a bit nervous about what USA is doing. I was one of the guys celebrating 9/11 while watching the news at the university's cantina. USA's external affairs policy gets things like that. That day we finally saw the vicious empire of our time falling down to the knees.

Then it came the Afganistan war, and then the Irak war. Bush managed to get the rest of the world even more pissed about USA. A good friend of mine, son of a congressman, proposed a solution for it: "Nuke Texas", he said.

But now, watching the news, I feel sorry about the people that lost their homes, the people who lost dear friends and family. Yes, sure, all of we would have liked to see CNN covering the same way the massacres at Afganistan, but it doesn't change the fact there is a lot of innocent people suffering.

I got nervous after talking with a lot of friends about Katrina and they said: "They deserve that". I asked why. "Because they vote stupid leaders or don't vote at all. Forget the media brainwashing, they are guilty".

Then I realized another thing.

Bush and the hawks are protestants who believe God will award them in life. That's why they are so ambitious. They believe, if I get richer and more powerful is because God likes what I do. If they really think that, I assume they are freaken out now. But perhaps not. Louisiana, Alabama and Mississippi are under water, thousands died, millions lost, but Texas is still there. Bush spent a week at the ranch before paying attention to drowning niggers and hispanos.

Texas is still there. I don't think the Katrina victims deserve it. I think God (if there is one) is a motherfucker republican yanqui.

Very interesting theory about "god"... lol
Just to be completely honest with you, I feel the exact same way. Funny how the president always seems to take a vacation at the most inopportune times....

It was 'interesting' to see that the very large percentage of folks that waited outside the Superdome were black, poor, and old persons that can't just escaped when the need suits them. 1.3 million people live in the New Orleans metro area. About a 1 million evacuated (estimated.)

The worst part of the disaster and response is the fact educated people - engineers and scientists - KNEW it would be catastrophic and hard to handle the aftermath for years prior. Yet, nothing 'truly preventive' was accomplished due to politics and cuts to budgets to fix levees. The Army Corps of Engineers stated, "this could have been avoided - or at least, lessened."

Then, it happens, 2 days of warning prior - and Bush stays on vacation til Tuesday. FEMA is inept; the military balks at 'helping' immediately; police abandoned their jobs; and politicians bicker while victims suffer, die and wonder, "where the hell is everyone." A total disgrace.

I made a donation to help; but it isn't enough. Truth be told, my family is having it's hard time. But I can't imagine going through THAT. Mississippi coast makes New Orleans look repairable. It's a tragedy; and the government 'let' it ride for 4 days.

Believe me, NOT many in LA, S. Mississippi or S. Alabama were voting for Bush. Their pocket books are not swelling from the LOVE of Bush and his policies.
