Play
the actual arrangements used by the Beatles
on their classic recordings! The Beatles project
will be an amazing musical immersive experience,
open to String Players and Rock Musicians who
are currently studying with a teacher.
Led
by Creative Director Michael
Campagna, The Beatles Project has become
one of our most popular ensembles. The ensemble
will consist of 10, 1-hour sessions and culminate
a public performance at the end of the session.

Contemporary String Orchestra
Session begins Saturday, September 14
Led
by the director of our strings department, Dr.
Yvette Devereaux , the Contemporary String
Orchestra is an intensive, but fun ensemble
class where students will play works by important
classical composers, as well as jazz, rock and
music from around the world. There will be a
public performance opportunities and a gala
performance at the end of the session.
This is an excellent opportunity for string
players to develop important musicianship skills
such as:
Listening and ear training
Rhythmic accuracy
Mastery over progressively more sophisticated
repertoire
Experience playing and performing a range of
musical genres and styles

Jazz Combo Lab Band
Session begins Monday, September 16
Led
by bassist and educator Nate
Light, the Jazz Combo Lab Band is a small
group ensemble for intermediate to advancing
young musicians.
Open
to horn players, guitarists, drummers and bassists.
Small group ensemble ensures plenty of playing
time and individualized instruction
Learn classic jazz standards the way Miles Davis,
Sonny Rollins, Charles Mingus and Thelonious
Monk played them.
Learn the basics of improvisation and gain valuable
experience soling in a jazz combo setting.

Eclectic Kids Chorus
Session begins Wednesday, September 25
Led
by Sally
Dworsky, the Eclectic Kids Chorus is a unique
group class where kids sing a wide range of
music - from traditional African call and response
to the Velvet Underground to Coldplay and more.
This class is for kids 9 -14 and preferably
with some prior musical instrument or singing
experience.
Kids
will learn to sing in harmony and explore rhythm
and group dynamics. Creativity and self expression
are fostered through guided improvisation and
games.
On
the last day of the session kids will share
what they learned in an informal performance
for family and friends.

Developing Young Voices
Session begins Wednesday, September 25
Like
the Eclectic Kids Chorus, Developing Young Voices
students will sing a wide range of music and
styles, with an emphasis on ear training, getting
to know and free their natural voice and working
together as a group. Recommended for younger
students ages 6 to 8.
On
the last day of the session kids will share
what they learned in an informal performance
for family and friends.

Intermediate Classical Piano Theory
For levels 4-7
An
intensive six-week piano theory review course
covering material tested in the Music Teachers'
Association of California Certificate of Merit
for Levels 5-7. Open to all intermediate-level
musicians looking to deepen their knowledge
of music theory and its applications.
