Looking for a relaxing holiday close to nature? Welcome to the beautiful south Swedish countryside and Barkhult village.

The village of Barkhult is on the border between the province of Sm�land and Sk�ne, not far from the historical railway town of �lmhult (most well known as the home of IKEA).

The Solhem House:

Wonderfully secluded houses situated in an opening in the forest with plenty of sunshine. 100% privacy. Wonderful garden with lots of traditional flowers. Small barn and grazing cows in the summer months.

The house sleeps at least 5 people and with some arrangements can take more children. 2 large bedroom and one single bedroom. 2 drawing rooms. Fully equipped kitchen with table for 4. WC & Shower. Digital TV and VCR. Garden furniture. Heating, water and electricity included in price. The cottage is available all year around.

Nearest gas station and grocery store is in H�radsb�ck (c. 5km). A wider selection (including wines and spirits) can be found in �lmhult (17km). Lake Femlingen less than 2 km away (beach 9 km).

Location:

This part of Sm�land consists of a rolling plateau of woods and marshland with numerous lakes and rivers. Barkhult village is near Lake Femlingen (one of the larger lakes in the area - the even larger lakes of M�ckeln and �snen are also within easy reach by car). The village itself is very old, as evidenced by remnants of old burial sites from the stone and bronze ages, but it has remained small and rural and today it has only around 30 inhabitants. Peace and quiteness is guaranteed!

Barkhult and the surrounding areas offer plenty of opportunity for both peaceful relaxation and activities for the whole family. The beatiful nature in this part of Sweden has been formed by the loving care of generations of farmers and Barkhult and the surrounding villages have some of the best preserved heritage environments in the area. Meadows, grazing land and grey, ageing stone walls characterise this landscape. Lake Femlingen is nearby. We are happy to lend you a small rowing boat if you would like to take a trip on the lake.
