Gus Boyle's 2007 Review

Team 1 “Dinos”

Ken MacRae, Doug Macneil, Bob Dunn, Wally Hines

Their baaack; yes golf fans, for the fifth time in eight years team Dino will once again prowl the fairways of the awesome highland links. Watch out you faint of heart, these guys are loaded for bear (or beer). They’ve listened for two years; the whispers, the innuendoes, the hearsay and the lies. Now its time to prove 2005 was the real deal. In short: Old, yet proven, must avoid the tequila sunrise.

Team 2 “Hitmen”

Greg Macleod, John Muise, Bob Latham, Shawn MacDonald.

Wow: These desperados have it all. Definite long ballers, with enough short game skills to run away from the pack if given the opportunity. Could falter due to excessive social activities. In short: Keep it tame and you’re in the game.

Team 3 “Smokin’”

Larry Dunn, Joe Martell, Kent Macpherson, Bob Youden.

Yet another top-notch squad of talented wisemen vets. Plenty of game here and may not succumb to the pitfalls of life in the fastlane. In short: could be spoiler like a weed in the grass.

Team 4 “Young Guns”

Bobby Murphy, Jim Dunn, Brendon MacNeil, Glen Martin.

The youngest team in this year’s field can’t help but hope their young team’s exuberance will lead them to glory. Though talented, they are a cross section of abstinence and over indulgence. If they can take it easy and play it right, they could sip from the cup. In short: They’ll be a pickin’ but will they be a grinnin’?

Team 5 “VooDoo”

Mike Murphy, Donald Macdonald, Paul Guthro, Jeff Maclean.

Strong contender with a western flavor, featuring an ordained Hieda shaman who, it is said, can communicate with the game of golf itself. Now if that doesn’t give this team an edge over the rest of the field, nothing will. Let’s just hope golf likes the shaman. In short: Could be in it for the long run, unless the men in the white coats show up.

Yours Truly
Gus.
