The Temples which reject Guru!
Besides Ezhavas, many low caste people (and even high caste) had contributed generously to the making of these temples. Some were in the committees of several of them to start with. But as the time went on, by and large, low caste members have been systematically excluded. In many places the situation is so pathetic today that a low caste person can never get membership in any of these temple committees! Not only these temples have been monopolized by Ezhavas, but several of them are run almost as private property of certain vested interests within the community. In short, these temples have rejected Sree Narayanu Guru's principles long ago. Some have even degenerated to much lower levels. We will have the translation of the main article shortly. Recently, an unsual article appeared in the "Malayalam
Varika" ,March 2000, with the above title (in Malayalam, of
course), written by Vasudevan. "Unusual"
because contrary to the usual practice of singing "lullaby"
there were quite some revealing and shocking information
about the current status of the Ezhava temples which were
founded by Sree Narayana Guru.
