Akane explains that Dr. Tofu likes Kasumi and Dr. Tofu walks in on them talking. Genma blows up a bag and pops it, holding up saying that he's Ranma's pop. Ranma thanks him for the interruption. Dr. Tofu examine's Ranma's wound and guesses that Akane hit it. They ask how he knew and he says that it was evident from the deep impression and big bruise. Ranma comments that Akane even hits a ball like a savage and Akane yells at him for not paying attention. Dr. Tofu comments that he was just joking about Akane hitting the ball. He tells Akane that there's nothing wrong with being active and Ranma calls her macho. Dr. Tofu says that just mean's she's healthy and Ranma calls her sexless. Akane yells at Ranma to be quiet as Dr. Tofu applys a disinfectant.
Kasumi arrives and Dr. Tofu turns Ranma's head sideways in his distraction. He mistakes Genma for Ranma, and Genma holds up a sign saying he's Ranma's father. Kasumi says that she came to return Dr. Tofu's book and gives him a present. Dr. Tofu takes the napkin off a plate of cookies that she presents him and uses it as a mask, saying that it fits very well. Kasumi replies that she wasn't referring to the napkin and Dr. Tofu chews on the plate. Ranma gets Dr. Tofu's attention, telling him that his neck needs fixed. Dr. Tofu cracks it the opposite way it had been. Dr. Tofu mistakes his skeleton for Genma and asks him to bring Kasumi some tea. Kasumi comments that Dr. Tofu is amusing. Akane replies that he never acts like that when Kasumi's not around and leaves. Dr. Tofu mistakes Genma for a new customer and Genma holds up a sign saying that he's Dr. Tofu's assistant. Dr. Tofu asks who long he's been a panda and Genma replies that he's been like that since summer. Dr. Tofu's patients wait outside while Kasumi's in there, commenting that an exam now could mean their life.
Ranma looks for Akane at the Tendo dojo and Nabiki asks him what's wrong with his neck. Akane is in the backyard breaking cement blocks. Ranma thinks that Akane is crying and tries to cheer her up. She slams his face against the ground and asks what he wants. He comments that she doesn't seem to be very down and she asks if he actually expects her to believe he came here to cheer her up. He asks why she wouldn't believe it and comments that his neck is fixed. She asks him to come with her for a moment and the two spar. She yells at him to fight back. Ranma asks if she doesn't get tired of being angry all the time and tells her she's cute when she smiles. She stares at him and he pokes her on the forehead, telling her she blew it. He walks off and she yells at him for fighting dirty. That night, Akane remembers what Ranma said and smiles into a mirror. Ranma pops in her window and asks if mirrors always make Akane smile or is she just testing her cheeks. Genma asks Ranma if his neck was better. Ranma replies that it was while reading a chiropractic book with his head turned sideways.
