Part Five: To the Tree-Borne Kettle-Girl

Kuno accidently grabs Ranma's breasts and she slams him on the cement before somersaulting away. The students watching comment that Ranma's body seemed to have gotten smaller and more curved. Kuno notes that the person in the pool with him was definetly a woman and yells at Ranma for trying to escape. Ranma wrings out his pants while sitting in a tree and calls Kuno a pervert. Ranma assumes that Kuno's figured out his secret. Akane appears with a kettle and calls Ranma an idiot for jumping in the pool. Kuno searches for Ranma and Akane throws him the kettle. Akane challenges Kuno to a fight and Kuno agrees, saying that he'll go out with Akane if she wins so he will do his best to lose.

Akane uses the fight to buy Ranma time to turn back into a guy. Akane kicks Kuno away just as Ranma managed to sit back on the branch with the kettle, then Kuno lands head first on the kettle. Kuno comments that Ranma is the girl from before and Akane yells at him for not changing back. Kuno asks if Ranma saw where the boy with the pigtail went and Ranma shakes his head. Kuno calls Ranma a coward for running away, saying he isn't a man. Ranma drops the kettle and Kuno, then challenges him to a fight. Kuno agrees, saying that he will allow her to go out with him if she wins. Ranma kicks him and asks who wants to go out with him. Kuno thinks this girl is more skilled that Akane as he falls over, with Ranma holding his sword. Ranma tells Kuno that Saotome Ranma is even better than she is. Ranma heads home and Akane points out that school isn't over yet.

At the Tendo Dojo, Genma comments that Akane looked out for Ranma at school to which Ranma replies that he didn't ask her to. Nabiki asks Akane what's wrong with a boy who turns into a girl. Akane replies that that's easy for Nabiki to say, people are spreading rumors about Akane being Ranma's fiancee. She asks if Nabiki want people to think she's a pervert too just as Ranma is about to knock on her door. Ranma walks away without thanking Akane.

The next day, Kuno asks Nabiki if she knows the girl with the pigtail and chinese clothes. Kuno writes the girl a note and gives it to Nabiki to deliver, addressing it to the Tree-Borne Kettle-Girl. Nabiki delives the note to Ranma, commenting that she doesn't think Kuno knows that the girl is the same person as Ranma. The note tells Ranma to meet Kuno on Sunday in the tenth hour at the second field of Furinkan High School. Akane comments that it sounds like a duel and Nabiki adds that Kuno hates to lose. Ranma meets Kuno on Sunday in his girl form, and asks where Kuno's sword is. Kuno replies that he doesn't need a sword and tosses Ranma a bouquet of flowers. He walks off saying that he loves her and the wind blows the petals off the flowers.
