Part Three: I Hate Men!

Genma tells Ranma that he's going to school since they'll be staying with the Tendo's for a while. Nabiki tells Ranma that he'll be going to the same school as Akane and her, saying that she'll see him there as she leaves. Akane tells her to wait so she can go with her, but Nabiki tells Akane to walk her fiancee to school. The two walk together, with Ranma walking along the top of a fence while Akane walks on the street. Akane tells Ranma that they're not going to get married and he agrees. When she tells him not to hang around her in school, he agrees saying that he can't stand macho chicks like her. Genma runs up and hits Ranma, telling him that he's in no position to be choosy about women. Ranma knocks Genma off the fence and into the water below. The panda attacks him but he avoids the blow only to be splashed with water by an old lady. Ranma starts to walk away to take a bath but Akane warns him he'll be late and goes to get him some hot water. While waiting for Akane, Dr. Tofu sneaks up on Ranma with his skeleton Betty. Ranma notices something odd about Akane when she returns and greets Dr. Tofu. Dr. Tofu comments that Akane hasn't been by recently and asks if she hasn't had any new injuries. Akane replies that she hasn't been doing anything that would cause injuries. Ranma watches from around the corner as he changes back and remarks that Akane's reaction to seeing Dr. Tofu is interesting.

As they head to school, Ranma asks who Dr. Tofu is. Akane explains that Dr. Tofu is a Chiropractor. Ranma comments that Dr. Tofu is a Martial Arts Master from the way he snuck up on Ranma by erasing all sense of his presence. Akane tells him that Dr. Tofu is very good at Martial Arts even if he doesn't look it. He's taken care of her injuries ever since she was little. Ranma asks if Dr. Tofu is a man. Akane responds that he is, and asks what Ranma's point is. Ranma comments that he thought she hated men. As they approach the school gates, Akane agrees saying she despises men. A crowd of men rush towards her to try and beat her. Akane defeats them easily, saying she won't let another man defeat her. Ranma sits on the wall next to the school's gates and watches Akane fight. A girl comments that this happens every day. Nabiki yells at Ranma to come into the school and not worry about Akane.

All the men lay scattered around Akane, defeated. Kuno appears and comments that each of the men intends to ask Akane out whenever they defeat her. Kuno then asks Akane to fight him. Ranma comments that Akane's popular and she tells him to stay out of the way so he doesn't get hurt. When he asks what's going on, she responds that he'll see. Kuno points his wooden sword at Ranma, commenting that he's being quite familiar with Akane. Ranma asks Akane to tell Kuno but she pretends to not know what he's referring to. Kuno introduces himself as Upperclassman Kuno, Junior Group E, Captain of the Kendo Club, Undefeated New Star of the High School Fencing World, and the Blue Thunder of Furinkan High. A few girls comment that they're never heard "Blue Thunder" before. Ranma says that he's staying at the Tendo Dojo. Kuno attacks Ranma because he's staying under the same roof as Akane, but Ranma dodges saying that he's the heir to the Saotome School of Indiscriminate Grappling. He tosses his bag to Akane and introduces himself to Kuno as he accepts Kuno's challenge.
