Dilandu is a pilot for the Zaibach Empire who first appears in episode 3. He is in charge of capturing Escaflowne. He commands an entirely male company called the Dragon Slayers or Ryuugekitai, which includes Shesta, Gatti, Migel Lavriel, Dallet, Viole, and nine others. He pilots the Alseides and Oreades Guymelfs. He is extremely short tempered, quite insane, narcissistic, arrogant, and sadistic. Then again, if you had his life, you probably would be too. Since he was nine he's been used as a human experiment. He enjoys wine, violence, fire, and his face. He absolutely hates Van and Allen, as well as being told what to do and anyone harming his Dragon Slayers. Despite his insanity, he's actually very intelligent. Dilandu has a split personality that sometimes appears. His only friend beyond the Dragon Slayers is Jajuka.
