Making it over to Sneakin Corner without incident, I found Mantis stopped by the trap and showing each man the trip wire, as we moved through. I pushed upto the front and took the point. moving in cautiously, I cleared the location of our stash and signalled everyone up. We rested and I briefed everyone of my plan, to use the NIGHT BOUNDARY to reach the high ground. It would only become accessable in 20 minutes time (9pm) when NIGHT GAME RULES come into effect. Stinger came up and informed me that SPUNKMEYER had been heard on the radio. His transmissions were uncoded and he had said that he was in SCAREY CORNER and that we had left. As we rested, another transmission came over the intercepted channel; that he was outside the SAFE ZONE. This indicated that he was following us, so I immediatly told Nilz and Sab to set up an ambush covering the rear of our position. A while later and Stinger informed me that Spunkmeyer had reported in that he had located a booby trap. His team mates responded by warning him that everything he said was probably being scanned (but it was too late).

Once everyone else assumed a defensive perimeter, I told Capt. that he was coming with me. We were going to go on a COUNTER SNIPER sortie. We moved off fairly quick over the open field, knowing that it was unlikely that we would be seen, with the route I planned. Capt covered me and played my BACK UP. Reaching the stream, we headed downhill and soon arrived at the Booby trap. Obviously, the sniper would now be between us and our ambush team. I wanted the ambush team to get the first crack at him, with us playing more as a Cut Off Group. Signalling to Capt to move up, I heard full automatic firing 50m away and knew that the the Sniper may well bug out along this ridge. Seconds later he came into view, on the opposite side of the ridge, sprinting past us. I took aim and fired at the only visible target, his upper torso. Only then did I realise that my HOP was still set for 50m+ shooting (very high) and that my pellets went up over his head, even at 10m range. Shouting to Capt, Get HIM! we scrambled up the steep muddy bank and when I got over the top, I had a clear shot on the sprinting sniper 20m away. Again, I fired and saw the pellets sail way too high, even though I had aimed very low. He dashed into some gorse bushes and from his body language, I guessed that he would be running the full 150m to the treeline. Heck, its what I would probably have done too, in his boots. So I put my head down and sprinted into the bushes after him
A minute later STICK came over the crest 30m away and we all opened fire so he dashed down into Bears trench and took cover. The firing from our patrol stopped and I yelled, Keep firing guys! Several guns opened up and NITROX claimed the tag when NUT shouted HIT! (his NON HOP had helped here) Seconds later, NUT came over the same way and reached cover. I flanked quickly left (as I was the player on the extreme left) and put down 2 accurate burst HITTING him in the shoulder. I moved back upto the team and told them I was off on a limited flanking move and that they should dig in here. Again changing mags, I set off. Using the dead ground, I made it round to the treeline and pressed on quickly up the line of large trees. I knew I had been seen so wasted no time with stealth.
I got a glimpse of him and fired the last of the mag off, before he moved out of sight again. Soon I would be out of the bushes and back into the open field. We were both sprinting as fast as we could, which was fast considering our garb. I was running on a parallel heading and only 40m behind him. Grabbing a mag from my bandolier, I took out the empty and dropped it into the mud near the stream, just as I came hurtling out of the bushes. Slamming in the fresh 190, I adjusted my HOP, turning it down (anti clockwise) about one fifth of a revolution. Spunkmeyer was now 30m infront of me and still sprinting, but his heavy M24 (around 4+ KG) was taking its toll. I fired my AEG, but no pellets cameout of the barrel, my mag had jammed. Hearing my fire close behind, and still 50m from the treeline, Spunkmeyer turned and crouched to fire. Turning the winder on my 190 clockwork, I cleared the feed jam and fired from the HIP, still running. Firing a short burst (3 pellets) Spunkmeyer shouted HIT! I thought to myself that I had been lucky, before turning round and jogging back to the stream. Upon arriving there, I met Capt and told him what had happened. Then I looked for my mag and stood on it straight away. Stowing it in my pocket, we set off to the LUP and rendezvoused with the rest of the team. Once again, I announced that we were all going to move out, seeing that Team 2 knew our location. We are going to the top fenceline to watch the sunset.!
Making it over to a position level with the TAG ZONE, I turned up my HOP, due to the long range I expected to be firing at. Rounds started to come in and I returned fire at NUT who was on the edge of the field 50m away. Forcing him back, I just missed the Marshals who were making a video in the field between us. After they moved off quickly, I was also engaged by Ghostshell (?) from inside the far treeline. He was putting down accurate fire, but I had really hard cover behind a 4 thick tree. NUT rejoined the attack and tried pressing forward over the open field under suppressive fire. Yet I was not pinned and could fire from cover. Nut charged into the open field and I fired on Automatic until he was HIT! Fire was still coming in from Ghostshell and I realised that I was super low on rounds. Having gone through almost 4 mags (750 pellets). Switching to semi, I steadily emptied the last dregs I had into the far treeline, until my opponent stopped returning fire. Only after the shoot, did I see in the TAG BOOK that I had tagged him at 50m range. Indeed the Patrol had been a great boost to our score, with Team 2 recording 9 TAGS within only 10 minutes at that particular TAG ZONE. Moving back to the team, I signalled we would bug out and return to Scarey Corner. With which, we moved off with no more contact. Once back at camp spirits seemed high and everyone had chance for a bit of a rest. I reloaded my magazines with the last of the rounds I had on me (the rest were in my webbing set). We kept our all day vigil going and sentried until 8pm. Stinger informed me that he was monitoring Team 2s channel and was trying crack their map codes. I told him to keep me updated on any intel that he may gather. I then announced that all of us would head back over to our initial LUP below the gorse, before there was a full scale assualt on our position. Once we all got saddled up, we prepared to move out, with Nete volunteering to carry the flag. I would accompany him near the centre of the 10 man patrol, while Mantis took the point position. I positioned Nilz and Sab at the rear of the team, as a rearguard.
