Surgeory 2 Lee, WRAITH and G-MAN (Observing) When the part arrived (from HONG KONG) we set up a surgery, for the following weekend. Reviewing the notes, we set about greasing the mecha box and then reassmebling it. only then was it apparant that the original nylon BEARINGS were starting to wear. They should be replaced @ the guns next service. Coming to the "close procedure" we found the gearbox to be harder to locate, with the stronger spring. Making sure, the piston sat squarely on the rail; we rebuilt the gearbox. Then replacing the furniture, we test fired the gun. Working fine with a sweet sound.. The job was done. Should be one Happy Customer Many thanks to G-MAN, for his OLD SKOOL opinion. He had been experianced with gearbox 1 and 2 form his Armourers stint pre '96. Indeed G-MAN had once been the SAC trouble shooter.

This FAMAS came into the clinic; only making a grinding sound and not properly turning over. Surgeory 1 Lee and PAPABEAR We opened it and found the patient to be very new. He had been "upgraded" with TN barrel and M90 spring (328fps) Upon entering the gearbox (see below) we discovered the PISTON was actually "jammed" and that there was little actual damage.
The spring guide was worn and pieces of it's soft ABS had got into the mechanism and piston. A new SYSTEMA spring guide was recommended to the "next of kin", who agreed. The gearbox was degreased (just as well looking at the DUCKAMS stuff that was everywhere). The barrel was cleaned, although it was not really dirty. Then the entire gun was "put on ice" until the new part arrived......
Please Note: This gun took several weeks to complete. Due to delivery times of the parts required. In the future, we aim to reduce the turn around time to a minimum. We aim to please you: our patrons.
