APRIL 2002, SPEEDBALL EVENT

KOBRAS swapped ends and TMA moved to the pillbox. TMA quickly tried to sort out a plan. Lee and Wraith would move down the East boundary quickly while PAPABEAR and SPECTRE would firefight down the trench as a pair.

While the KOBRAS decided that Creaser and MADMIKE would flank east. AXEMAN and G.I. Joe would cover the centre.

GAME ON.

As soon as the whistle blew, Lee and Wraith were off and sprinting. Lee glanced left as he passed the gorse; Creaser and MADMIKE had broken the treeline 80m away downhill.

Wraith had run straight down the east edge of the centre treeline and now saw the 2 Kobras run out from the trees infront of him. Dropping to his knee, he opened up with the AK SVD. "HIT!" shouted Creaser, as he was just reching the safety of the trees. Wraith cut into the centre treeline, taking cover. G.I. Saw movement and opened up with the M60. PAPABEAR and SPECTRE went to ground.

MADMIKE made it to the trees and spotted Lee moving down the same treeline, 60m away up hill. Both players sprinted for trees to their front. MADMIKE pinning Lee with his FNP90. Lee quickly put out a snap shot. MADMIKE's bursts were coming close to the tree, so Lee sat back.

Watching the tree's shadows, he saw Madmike's move and knew that this was his only chance of a shot. Quickly leaning out, he saw Madmike moving quickly (25m away) towards an intervening tree. Firing the SPORTER, Lee ducked the return fire. Hitting MADMIKE in the leg. Wasting no time, Lee dashed down level to Bears Bunker and scanned for targets.

Spectre had positioned himself well and now had a good shot on AXEMAN "HIT!" while Wraith proved his marksmanship with a volley, hitting G.I.Joe. PAPABEAR covered, while the flag was snatched.

Returning to the pillbox, Lee remained on the flank. Deciding it would be wise to hold this flank, he shouted uphill," I need 1 man with an electric!"

Looking uphill, Lee saw 2 men run out of the treeline. SPECTRE and PAPABEAR. "I only need 1!" Lee shouted. Spotting each other, SPectre returned to the pillbox, while PAPABEAR kept low and joined Lee. Setting up in ambush, Lee was in the ditch under a bush, with PAPABEAR near the boundary, behind a tree.

The whistle blew and KK moved into the game. moving off with Creaser on point, they headed east straight towards PAPABEAR's tree.

"They must be on ambush." said Creaser to G.I.

Now only 10m from PAPABEAR's position, he opened up with MONGO (his MP5K). Hitting Creaser instantly. All hell broke loose, with firing coming both ways, so Creaser hit the dirt to allow the game to continue. Firing the M60 from the hip, G.I. was next on MONGO's list.

Lee fired at Creaser with the sniper rifle, not knowing Creaser was already tagged. This attracted the remaining Kobras attention and MADMIKE opened up from the ridge he had dived behind. MONGO carried on it's burst and HIT, Madmike. AXEMAN popped up too, with an MP5 in each hand. Firing on cyclic, he let rip, only to be the last victim of MONGO. The KOBRAS had all been shot out in less than 10 seconds!!!!!!

"Next time, I'll ask for 2 men!" thought Lee! TMA regrouped and had a teamtalk at the pillbox. Before Lee moved back down the tree line to set up another ambush, this time alone. Laying behind 2 sections of tree stump, he covered the open field.

The whistle blew and after a while Creaser appeared on point, with AXEMAN not far behind. Moving to bracket AXEMAN, Lee was spotted by Creaser. Seeing Creaser's double take, Lee didn't hang around for a firefight. He sprinted uphill.
