Series Three

The Following were all drawn in pencil by William Leighton and inked by Darlene Corbett

Candy

A nice domestic piece, it is simple, to the point, and warm. The background isn’t as it was on film, as a proper reference couldn’t be found at the time. The Oracle, as portrayed by Gloria Foster was always a warm character with a lot of heart, and this image is an attempt to capture that.

We Owe You For That

I really enjoyed the process of illustrating this one, I started it as a wide angle shot and moved to a tall with the finish, why I don’t know. The twins were interesting characters; I like the dreadlocks, a fun thing to do, time consuming mind you. Trinity as always is my favorite character to do, her features are always so fair, and yet hard; a true example of beauty in strength.

Neo Screens

William feels this is his weakest of all the pieces he has done, it was one of his favorite scenes, and it took him some time to draw all 36 of the background Neo’s. The main Neo is where William feels he has lost his way; he thinks it doesn’t look like Keanu. Myself, and most of his friends think he is crazy.

Coming For You

I don’t particularly like the way this image turned out, too much dark in Smith and not enough around him. This image to me is one large flaw. For it to be seen and presented here is a big step, and a waste of space. Darlene labored over this image for a long time, trying, I assume, to correct my mistakes. It appears she was unsuccessful.
