Robots

Robots are primarily only used by the Machines.  The human Resistance has deemed it too risky to put trust in any kind of artificial intelligence unit for fear it may be "corrupted" by the Machines and used against humanity (as all machines were during the Mechanized Revolt).  The robots listed below are only the most common of those known to the Resistance.  There are certainly many other classes and types of robots employed by the Machines.

Sentinel 1 Series (Squids) (St. 18 Dx. 18 Iq. 14 Ht. 3230)

The Sentinel I Series serves as the primary scout and guard corps for the machines. They work independently, showing much cunning and resourcefulness. However, they are most dangerous when working in squads (usually 3-5). They coordinate extremely well with instantaneous communication among the squad members.

Cutting Tool

(Type: Imp, Dmg: 6D+1, Ss: 15, Acc: 12, Rcl: -2)

The sentinels often launch small robots which home in on a specified target and connect themselves to it. Once the target has been acquired it is virtually imposable to lose.

Bomb Robot (St. 12 Dx. 16 Iq 8 Ht. 140)

Type: Cr, Dmg 6Dx15, Wt 1.4, Fuse 2-6)

Orderlies (Docbots) (St. 16 Dx. 14 Iq. 8 Ht. 1300)

Orderlies exist solely to monitor stasis pods and clean out defective battery units (i.e., humans).  They generally ignore any outside stimuli which doesn’t directly bear on their duties.  However, they can coordinate to detect and root out intruders, dispatching them if necessary.

Nurse (Beetles) (St. 18 Dx. 18 Iq. 15 Ht. 4450)

Nurses exist solely to run the farms and are responsible for the cloning and raising of new humans to serve as power sources.  They generally ignore any outside stimuli which doesn’t directly bear on their duties.  However, if so directed by the System, Nurses can coordinate to detect and root out intruders.

Maintenance Bots (Spiders) (St. 8 Dx. 12 Iq. 10 Ht. 190)

Spiders perform a variety of tasks, from keeping things clean to performing repairs on other robots.  In general, they take no notice of anything other than broken machines. They scurry around anywhere there are machines to maintain, often working in large groups to complete tasks more efficiently.   Spiders are merely one type in an entire class of custodial robots that tend to the Leviathan and its sub-parts

Hover Ship (Hack-Ship) (Ht. 5600)

A hover ship must power down most of its systems to use the EMP Wave without damaging itself (considered going to minimal power).  If they do not, Sensors, Communications, Maneuverability and all computers (including Broadcast Chairs) will cease to work.  It takes 1d6 hours to repair each damaged system.  If Broadcast Chairs

lose power or are damaged while in use, the Jumper will die.

Gatling Gun

(Type: Cr, Dmg: 5D+1, Ss: 20, Acc: 13, Wt: 45, Rof: 3-166, Shots: 500, St: 16, Rcl: -1)

EMP Generator

The EMP Generator fires an electromagnetic pulse in a wave which discharges in the direction the weapon is pointed. Any mechanical devices in the wave’s path are paralyzed. EMP generators work on a charge and must recharge each time they are used, thus draining the ship itself of all its remaining power, once a ship fires it’s EMP, it is useless.

(Type: Spcl, Dmg: Spcl, Ss: 14, Acc: 2, Wt: 7.85, Rof: 1/10, Shots: 1, St: 8, Rcl: -1)

Armoured Personal Unit (Powered Exoskeleton) (Ht. 3250)

The APU is a human designed and piloted tank like means of defending against the machines. It has two legs and two massive gun arms loaded with two 30mm belt-feed guns. The APU and the APU Corps form part of the defense against the threat outside the Matrix, namely the Sentinels.
