| Those We Will Never Forget... | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Dandy Lion King | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Dandy was Amy's first pony. We bought him for her when she was in kindergarden. He is a palomino welsh mountain cob. The two were a perfect match, and learned a lot from each other. Almost too soon Amy outgrew Dandy, and we had to sell him. Although the two never said their goodbyes, Amy knows he went to a good home. The great combo won many ribbons in speed shows, and Amy also recieved a Special Merit award with Dandy in 2001. Amy had close to 900 hours on Dandy throughout her years of owning him. The above pictures were taken at the Boots and Saddles Speed Show in 2000. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| OKS Mischievious | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Okie was Amy's replacement horse for Dandy. Okie is a bay tobiano paint mare. Amy didn't own Okie for very long because, Okie started to develop the problem of rearing every time Amy asked her to do more then a trot. Kathy even tried a few times to see if Okie was just having the problem with Amy, but soon found out that Okie was just misbehaving. Since Amy wanted a show horse, who would do more then trot, she sold Okie and bought her current horse, Ben. Altogether Amy owned Okie for about a year and a half, and had a total of 172 hours of riding time. The above picture is when Amy first bought Okie and she hadn't started her rearing habit. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Smokey Rose | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Smokey was Shannon Bauske's horse. Smokey was a grey polish arabian mare. Shannon spent many years in the saddle atop of Smokey. The pair were often seen showing in western pleasure and sometimes halter. Shannon had also taken Smokey to the Dodge Co. Fair, and won many grand and reserve champions with her for the Crystal Creek Riders year-end award banquets. Sadly, Smokey developed arthritis in her hind legs and was suffering so Shannon had to make the hard decision to put her down in 2000. She was around 20 years old when she was put down, so she had lived a good life. Smokey is now probably enjoying fresh green pastures and is waiting for Shannon to join her once again. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Sultani Express | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Tee was Kathy's horse before she bought Shyanne. Tee was a bay egyptian arabian mare. Her sire was and dam was Sultani Arriel, also previously owned by our family. Kathy rode Tee for many years on trail rides camping. Shannon also had shown Tee at the Dodge Co. Fair in 1997 and had won a blue in Halter. We aren't sure where Tee is right now, but hope that she's still living and has a wonderful home. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Sultani Arriel | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Arriel was a chestnut egyptian arabian mare. She was fun to ride, but had some mental issues. Lonnie rode her camping, and a friend of Shannon's showed her at the Dodge Co. Fair during the 1990's. She was a great mom, and foaled two beautiful horses. One being Tee, and the other being a black colt, who sadly died the night he was born in a winter storm. We didn't even know she was pregnant because at the time she was pretty fat, and hadn't been around any stallions, which we later found out wasn't the case. Arriel was a beautiful mare and was also a very friendly horse to be around. When Amy was little she would always run up to the barn and Arriel would stand quietly while Amy petted her. Arriel was sold in 1999 and was going to be taught to run speed. From what we've heard she's still there and is doing well. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Foxy | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Foxy was Shannon's cat. She just recently died this winter. Foxy was a beautiful cat with tortoise shell coloring. She was always there for you to pet her and flopped over for you to pet her belly. Foxy was a lovable cat and we will miss her very much. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
