(current time)

Even though I have only been an avid snowboarder for a couple of years, I have had the experience
to shred at most of the ski resorts in Utah. Last year I did some photo work at the Canyonsand earned a season pass there.

Afew years ago, the Canyons was known as Park West, and remained to be a smaller, more low budget ski resort. Well, a few Big Dogs got together and decided to invest in Park West and turn it into a resort that was three timeslarger.

Going there today, you would think they have made it four times larger. It's huge! Personally, I think the Canyons ski resort rocks! 99-90 is the new mountain addition. It's big, it's fast, it's steep, it's sweet ass! Definately my favorite lift inUtah rightnow.

Any snowboarder would be a fool to say that they don't like Brighton. It's a great place for beginners and an Utopia for the more extreme snowboarder. The board park is insane and the backcountry is sick! If you've come to Utah to shred, you have got to get to Brighton.

I live in Orem, so this year, out of convenience, I have been submitting myself to Sundance. Definately not the best ski resort around...Some say it's a shizzy resort, but I have had one of my best boarding days there this year. However, it was only because of the conditions. Fat flakes of snow were falling lightly all the day I was there, leaving fresh tracks everytime we went down. The wind was minimal, and there were not a lot of people there that day. Phat powder provisions! It snowed hard the night before, so the snow underneath was soft. I like back country and riding through trees. Sundance has a variety of thick pine and scattered oak. Really not much back country at Sundance. With my 2 for 1 pass, $13 is worth it, and it's only 15 minutes away.

Elk Meadows is where I learned to ride. It was the resort nearest my hometown, Gunnison. Elk Meadows has remained a bit of a secret. They have always struggled to get enough snow on their lifts to stay open, but when the Snow Gods bless this little place...ROCK ON! It was a bit of a paradise for me and my friends and with few customers there on the weekdays, it was fresh powder tracks all day for us! I believe Elk Meadows ski resort is out for this season. You can keep posted here.

Brianhead(located about 20 miles north of Cedar City, Utah..south end of the state) is tight! It has good location too. It attracts a lot of people from Nevada, Arizona, and California (I have noticed that by talking with different people on the ski lifts and asking where they were from). Awesome board park! Brianhead is fast, has big long runs and huge jumps. One thing I did not like was the main lift was always overcrowded and slow.
