The Setting Is Earth: True!! What is know about the story thus far is that it has to deal with a Covenant invasion of Earth. However, a second Halo is also involved so, most likely the Master Chief will be heading back into space. Bungie has stated that there will be low-gravity environments, so space travel is going to be in Halo 2.

The Covenant Will Be Playable: True!! Elites will be playable class in Multiplayer. We do not know if any other Covenant forces are playable, and we do not know if there will be more than one class of humans to choose from.
There Will Be More Vehicles: True!! The Scorpian Tank, The Warthog, and the ghost are returning, along with other amazing new rides. There will be different types of Warthogs for different uses, and there will be more Covenant vehicles too. The Banshee is back, and the aliens have added a new tank.
The Master Chief Is New And Improved: True!! Dual-wielding is in for certain, and there if suspect for being able to sneak peeks around corners. Destuctible environments and vehicles are there definitely. You can check the multiplayer trailer to find all of these tricks.
There Will Be More Enemies: True!! The Covenant has atleast two more types of aliens: the Brutes and the Prophets. The Brutes are giant, gorilla-like warriors, and the Prophets are floating psychics who are expected to be more like generals than actual arriors, as they look petit and lanky.

There Will Be More Multiplayer Modes: True!! Aside from the typical deathmatch modea of Slayer and Team Slayer, Capture the Flag, Assault, Oddball, and King of the Hill will be back for Xbox Live, split-screen, and System Link.
There Will Be Online Co-Op: True is favored! Though not completely true yet, there have been hints at the online Co-Op.
