COMBINED FORCES COMMAND BASIC MILITARY COURTESY AND PROTOCOL: It is our intent in the CFC to simulate our organization after our real world counterparts realistically. This will go hand in hand with the simulations we choose to fight in. Most of the personnel in the CFC have no prior military experience and this Letter of Instruction will familiarize you with the basics. 1. Obey all officers and noncommissioned officers appointed over you. If you don't agree with a superior, use the chain of command to air out your grievances starting with the lowest link in the chain. If you don't agree with the solution, you may appeal to the next higher ranking officer in your chain of command, and so on until it is resolved. NEVER go straight to the top as this may result in disciplinary action.2. When addressing a senior officer you will salute at the beginning and end of the meeting. This is done in the virtual world utilizing "S!". When communicating with flag/general officers (0-7 and above), you must wait for them to approach you first. NEVER pop in on them and keep your discussion to the topic for which approached, do not use this as an opportunity to air out your grievances or submit ideas/suggestions, use your chain of command when doing this unless you are asked for your opinion on something specifically. 3. When on line in your respective simulations, extend your courtesy to higher ranking nonmembers, do not do anything which would tarnish our image. If you are harrassed or if someone is being disrespectful to you, then leave the area, or, if you are the host, boot the offender. 4. Senior Officers will not abuse the authority given to them, you will extend the proper respect to your men. All orders given to subordinates will be lawful, clear and concise. Abusing authority will result in immediate discharge from the CFC. 5. All personnel will participate in their simulation at the highest realism settings possible for their respective simulator. Cheaters will not be tolerated. 6. Use email or ICQ to resolve differences, keep negative comments out of any public forum. Failure to do so may result in a courts martial. COL.
