Raziel sat in the cockpit of Sabotage-Lex, crouched behind a snowdrift. He and Kuja had been flying for the last two days straight, just to get a step ahead of the competition. Late yesterday afternoon, Kuja had noticed a pair of energy signals following them at about half their speed, so they found a spot to stay for the night and set watch in the morning. Suddenly he saw it, a pair of mobile suits, shillouetted against the rising sun.
He opened a com-link to Gundam Deathscythe standing beside him. "Are you ready Kuja?" he asked, drawing his Dragon Buster Sword, "As soon as we can recognize them, we'll attack."
Kuja nodded. "Yeah, I'm ready," he said, lighting his Twin Beam Scythe, "I'll take the one on the left."
Unknown sat in the cockpit of Penelope Gundam, beside Marz, as they climbed the hill. Before the Battle Royal began, he and Dark Raven had agreed on a strategy. Since neither one of their suits were equipped to fly, they locked onto the first energy signal they saw and followed. Early last night they had lost the signal, so they were traveling as fast as they could in hopes of catching up.
Suddenly Sabotage-Lex and Gundam Deathscythe came bursting through a snowbank, weapons drawn. Dark Raven lept back, drawing Masamune, as Deathscythe charged at him. Right before they would have met, he lept to the right, sending Deathscythe flying into a massive snowdrift. As he ran towards the drift, blade drawn, he caught a glimpse of Penelope Gundam, backed against a wall of ice, beam saber in hand.
Unknown slashed at Sabotage-Lex furiously, barely blocking the Dragon Buster Sword, but still pinned against the wall. He fired all his vulcans at once, sending Sabotage-Lex stumbling backwards over a cliff. He walked to the edge, beam saber ready to strike the killing blow if Raziel was weakened enough.
Suddenly Sabotage-Lex came hurtling back over the cliff, carried by a pair of jet-black wings, Dragon Buster Sword aimed right at Penelope Gundam's Cockpit. As Raziel thrust forward, he felt the slight resistance of Penelope Gundam's armor, but it quickly gave. Once his sword had completely impaled Unknown, Raziel spun around, ripping Penelope Gundam in two. He heard an explosion behind him as he flew off to check on Kuja.
Meanwhile, Deathscythe and Marz stood deadlocked yet again. Dark Raven fired a blast from his stinger tail cannons, forcing Kuja back.
As Kuja stumbled backwards, he was knocked over by a second shot to the feet. He saw Dark Raven raise Masamune. He closed his eyes and waited for it all to end. Suddenly he heard a huge explosion in front of him. He opened his eyes and saw the smoking remains of Marz's lower half in front of him. "Raziel?" he said.
"You can thank me later," said Raziel, "Let's go. We've got to hurry if we want to make up the time we lost." The pair flew off into the sky, leaving the smoking wreckage of their opponents as the only record of the day's events.
[Results: The team of Unknown and Dark Raven is out of the Battle Royal. Raziel loses 100,000 armor. Kuja loses 200,000 armor and his Twin Beam Scythe is at 90%. Their team continues to the next round.]
