Date: 9th May 2003

Time: 0100 Hours

Location: Deep within the asteroid belt Calisto which surrounds the L5 colony.

Topography: Scattered pieces of MS and weapons cover most of the vicinity due to the last great war. The area also consists of a large number of asteriods, ranging from 2km to 48km in width. These objects are slowly being engulfed by the gravity of a nearby Nova black hole.

WARNING: Presence of space mines detected! Proceed with extreme caution.

Status: Dilandau is searching for the Mega generator in the asteriod belt and Kenshin has arrived in the L5 colony sector.

The huge asteriod loomed ominously in the Panther Gundam's cockpit screen - looking more like an omen of death than the location of a generator. The panther gundam swerved to the side, narrowly missing an oncoming rock. "Jeez, this place is spooky..." commented Dilandau, pausing only to wipe the sweat of his forehead. He had been manouvering through the dangerous asteriod field in a careful motion, so as not to disturb the inactive mines that lay within some asteriods. One wrong move could set a chain reaction of explosions that would destroy a MS in a second.

It is never easy mused Dilandau, but some things in life need you to work hard to accomplish them. This was one of those things. "Computer, initiate log book entry 2014 - this is Dilandau speaking, I am finally closing in on the position of the generator. I believe it to be hidden within the large asteriod - this could be my big break. Dilandau signing out..." He steeled himself for a moment and then, flew inside the inky blackness of the asteriod...

"Computer, NV scope on - maximum range of 4000m". Dilandau's vision suddenly turned blue as the NV scope tried to locate the immense source of power in the asteriod. Yet, there were so many tunnels and pitfalls that a step in the wrong direction could lead to him being lost forever. And there was no sound... a complete silence reigned. The darkness of the asteriod interior, combined with the utmost stillness unnerved Dilandau. He pulled out his beam saber and buster shield and carried along slowly through the closest tunnel. After several long minutes - he found himself going deeper, to the heart of the asteriod. Perhaps this would be where he would find his prize Dilandau thought. What would I give to be back at the Meow Mix factory?

He stopped dead in his tracks as the echo of a rock falling reached his sharp hearing. "God**n, I knew I wouldn't be alone for too long... well, I'm ready for ya!!!" he snarled, flexing the panther gundam's hold on the beam saber. Nothing... no one appeared from his front or back. Dilandau focused on his surroundings and saw, jutting down from the stony ceiling - an energy wavelength emitter. Designed to mimic the energy patterns of MS, it had the effect of making one mobile suit look like hundreds on the radar - it could also be used to copy the signature of other energy sources, such as a generator............ it was a trap. A cold stab of fear shot through Dilandau, he had been lured here...

The beam of pure energy rushed down the tunnel at the speed of light, striking the Panther gundam's left side and ripping it apart. The beam continued however and blew a 10km hole in the other side of the asteriod. "d**n, I missed the vital parts.. oh well, I've crippled him" shrugged Kenshin as he lowered his split twin buster rifle, smoking at the barrels....

He walked up to the Panther Gundam and pushed him down with his foot. "You were so gullable, at least I get my revenge on the Shadow Slayers at your pitiful expense!!!" Kenshin said laughing. Dilandau, looked up from his console with a raging fire in his eyes and yelled defiance, "NEVER!!!!!!!!" The Panther Gundam shoved the Zeta Gundam's foot off him and spun around the still-lit beam saber, bringing it down onto the torso of the Zeta gundam. "What!!!" cried Kenshin in disbelief at Dilandau's fury. The Panther gundam continued to strike at the Zeta gundam, smashing it left and right. Switching on the Vendetta, Kenshin charged at Dilandau - the two beam weapons collided sending a volley of sparks in every direction. The two gundam's fought manically, matching each other's blow, deflecting strikes with parries - fighting for survival...

But, the Zeta gundam knocked the Panther off balance with a shoulder tackle and a stab from the Vendetta, sending it crashing to the ground. It then picked up it's twin buster rifle and aimed it directly at the cockpit of the Panther gundam. "NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!" screamed Dilandau and launched himself at the Zeta - grappling with the rifle it held. "Get off you idiot, it's gonna go off and we'll both be killed" shouted Kenshin in panic. The twin buster rifle was pushed upwards by the two gundam's before it shot it's devastating energy beam at them - the blast was incredible, shaking the entire asteriod and sending it plummeting towards the L5 colony....

"Oh my god, what have we done?" said Kenshin, eyes wide with terror. The asteriod was rumbling with the force of an earthquake now and rocks and debris were raining down upon them. Both computers had informed the pilots that they were on a course to the L5 Colony cluster from the resulting magnitude of the rifle. "We've got one chance" muttered Dilandau, "we have to fly up through there". His gundam pointed at the hole made by the twin buster rifle - it was their only chance of escape. "C'mon, I'll help you up - we're only allies for now though" Kenshin offered tactfully. "No, I have to stay here - I caused this mess and I'm gonna fix it" deferred Dilandau. "Just leave and go outside the asteriod". Kenshin stared at Dilandau in amazement, "We can both destroy it from the outside, why do you want..." he trailed off. "It won't explode, it'll break off pieces large enough to annihalate colony still. Only self destructing from inside will ensure that all the asteriod missed the colony" Dilandau said in a hollow voice. Kenshin ignited his thrusters, wishing Dilandau good luck. The Zeta gundam flew outside the asteriod, positioning himself to shoot on Dilandau's command.

"See ya guys" smiled Dilandau wanly, looking at picture of the Shadow Slayers with him drunk in the middle. He activated the self destruct system on the gundam and opened up the link to Kenshin. Even if he was evil, thousands of people should not die because of his pety greed for power. No, it will not be...

The faint burst of static came through on the Zeta gundam's console in the form of Dilandau's voice - "Shoot Kenshin, you have one chance, one shot and one kill. It was a good fight, I hope to see you soon". The link went dead and Kenshin whispered a prayer for Dilandau and the L5 colony. The Zeta gundam pulled the trigger on the buster rifle...

An explosion similar to that of a supernova was seen from the effects of the self destruction and the twin buster rifle. The asteriod completely exploded before it reached the L5 colony... saving the people who inhabited it. The remaining chunks were taken care of by the Colony's own laser turrets. Nothing was known about the events that had taken place before - when two enemies had battled each other only to become allies to rescue a colony...

The asteriod field remained still, debris and rocks floating around aimlessly. A piece of metal was seen, on it was the writing "Dilandau Albatou".
