The mysterious portals of the dead had an unearthly feel to them; dark and
cold. The cries of long dead warriors echoed through the passages, eiree and
full of pain. The sound of heavy footseteps could be heard and into view came
the Shadow Gundam. Travis had been wandering the corridors and halls of the
portals, biding his time while everyone else in the living world fought and
quarrled with one another.
The portal itself was constantly shifting and
changing. Gaping holes would appear in the ground as would new passages. The
gloom of the portal would hide any number of undead creatures, although Travis
had been lucky up to this point. As the Shadow Gundam walked along, it couldn't
help but feel the vibrations that trembled the ground. Something was not fight
Travis thought, even in such a place of despair. He glanced down at his console,
finding the signs of a large energy chain reaction occuring. This puzzled him
greatly for in a place of the dead, why would there be such energy?
As he
turned a corner, he saw his answer. The swirling mists that surrounded the
figure could not completely obscure it's shape - it was the Panther Gundam.
"Hey, long time no see Travis, never thought I would find anyone alive down
here..." Gir said in a cheerful voice. Travis stood shellshocked at the sight,
Gir had just revived to life. He drew out his beam saber and started towards the
Panther Gundam. Gir sighed in annoyance "Man, touchy aren't we? - I say hello
and you take out your weapon". He paused to switch on his beam saber as well and
attach his buster shield. "I haven't had a fight for awhile, this should be good
- then I'll equal Dark's record, one loss, one kill".
Travis brought down
the beam saber onto the Panther Gundam, who dodged the blow and counterstriked
with an arcing low sweep. The Shadow gundam was knocked of its feet and hit the
ground hard, sending up a cloud of dust and dirt. "Ha ha, alright, I am good"
crowed Gir gleefully and lunged down onto the shoulder of the Shadow Gundam.
"AHHHh!!!!" yelled Travis as the beam saber burned a hole through the shoulder
of the Shadow Gundam. "You idiot!!! that'll take me weeks to fix" shouted Travis
angrily and rolled back before Gir's next strike hit his cockpit. "Not bad.."
murmered Gir and dashed into the Shadow Gundam with a shoulder tackle, denting
the front torso badly. Travis quickly recovered and boosted back. "You want
some, then have this you piece of scrap metal!!!" Travis flew forward and
slashed at the Panther Gundam which blocked with it's buster shield. The two
struggled in this position as Travis's beam saber slowly melted Gir's buster
shield...
Then suddenly Shadow Gundam's arm was seperated from it's body
and fell to the ground a 100 yards away. Gir had cut through Shadow's arm to
free himself from their stalemate. Travis uttered a curse and fell back to
deflected Gir's beam saber strikes, yet so precise they were that he grazed and
cut the torso of the Shadow Gundam many times. "Had enough Travis, I'm willing
to let you surrender" said Gir solemnly as he looked at the battered and bruised
Shadow gundam. "No way!!!" cried out Travis and swung around his beam saber at
the Panther's head. The Panther Gundam spun out of the way and the beam saber
sliced clean through a nearby pillar. "C'mere you..." snarled Travis as he
turned to face the Panther Gundam. Gir looked in horror behind Travis. "Travis,
behind you!!!! - there are things comin out of...". He was cut short by Travis
slamming down his beam saber against Gir's beam saber. "Trying to fool me huh?,
well it won't work buddy" said Travis with a malevolent gleam in his eye. Then
an explosion was heard from behind Travis and...
Suddenly, the air was
filled with howling and flashing. The two Gundams stepped apart and looked
around to see demons and undead creatures everywhere. They clung to the Shadow
gundam and the panther Gundam, tearing chunks of metal out of them in their
attempt to get to the living pilot inside. "Boosters full max, after burner
engage " ordered Gir and the demons on the Panther Gundam were burnt away by the
flame from the thrusters. However, they had completely engulfed the Shadow
Gundam... Gir knew there was nothing he could do for the pilot now. He blasted
open the adjacent wall and flew out, shutting his comlink off so he couldn't
hear the screams...
