Oh Noooooo!!! Relena?

By: Tracie Somebody

From the first gasp of breath to the last gulp of air I’ll be there. Kyoko mused with this phrase momentarily, as she hummed the song and tapped her foot to the tempo.

Her gum in her mouth had lost its flavor and was lying loosely on her tongue; with one swift movement she spit it out into a garbage can.

She fingered her 88mm in her pocket feeling its cold surface. She smiled her * I’m glad to be here * smile at the host, who stared at her blankly.

Shit! She swore to herself, where the hell was he…. she searched the crowd deep in thought when she felt the slightest flicker to her near right. She turned around swiftly and pointed her gun at a young mans guts.

Heero…She smirked at him as she realized the cold surface of his gun on her stomach.

“Enough with the formalities, I mean business.” Said Heero.

“Like I mean anything else,” I said, letting the contempt drip richly over my words so that the coated them thickly.

“Relena?” His voice gave him away; he cared where the little brat was.

“Safe, for now.” I reassured him emphasizing the “for now”. The tempo took up an old smooth beat and I gazed at the room, which was gradually becoming a dance floor.

“Care to dance, we can talk on the dance floor if you like.” I pocketed my gun and offered him a hand. He nodded his accent and we took to the dance floor.

“Don’t talk, just listen.” I began, “Relena IS safe, she is being held somewhere safe from you and who ever else.” I looked at him deeply but his face never flinched. “The thing is Heero, you saved her before but I’m afraid this time it’s different. You are going to complete a mission, one from a organization you’ll never hear of. They are anonymous, and so am I. Princess Relena will be taken into our custody until it is completed. You are to meet at the corner or Brandcha and Levenmart, you will find more instructions there.” I sighed, “Any questions?”

“What is your name?” he asked.

“Kyoko, why’da ya ask?” I asked taken aback…what the hell was he playing at?

“So, I can address you personally when I kill everyone of you bastards,” he said his icy eyes flashing daggers.

“I really don’t think so,” I said “Even if you found us you’d never kill us.”

“Why’s that?” he asked as the song stopped.

“Because friends don’t kill friends.” I said. Then I looked at him, defiance was written all over his face. I spoke quickly, “Besides Relena’s such a pretty girl such a shame to see her wounded or dead….” I knew I’d hit a soft spot. I walked away smiling, and muttering to myself “Heero, Heero, Heero… when will you learn?”.

****************************

Heero stood there hating the whole world…except perhaps Relena, and the Gundam pilots. He had been sucked in, he had friends…. who he NEEDED. ‘Omoa O’ Kurso’ he thought to himself. As he walked up and down the corner emotions tugging at his mind.

All the sudden up the street walked Kyoko, he looked daggers at her. Some how he blamed her for every thing. Even though reality kept telling him “She’s working for someone higher, someone even worse.”

****************************************

She stared at him…he had to have waited forever; she had forgotten to tell him what time or day to expect the informative. She smiled her best *I have something you want* smile, and walked to greet him. She hugged him and leaned toward his ear…

“Stop looking daggers at me, people are getting suspicious,” I hissed.

“….” He gave me that *I want to tell you some thing but I can’t because your in charge* glare. I smiled right back.

“Listen,” I said as if he wasn’t already, “Go to a warehouse, its on Hillsdale road, at 3:00pm on Friday, and DON’T be early.” I said, and then just for fun whispered, “Relena’s waiting…” Let him work his little mind on that I thought as I smiled and stared waiting for some response from supposedly Mr. Perfect Soilder himself.

******************************************

Heero wanted to kill her so much it hurt, Relena stopped him. Somewhere in his mind he pictured an evil enfaced man hurting Relena as soon as he got word of Kyoko.

He shuddered and walked away. Comforting himself with the image of pulling the trigger and watching who ever was responseable for this die. Never again he promised, never again will I ever leave Relena’s side. He returned to an old run down apartment waiting not able to sleep he silently waited for the next day to come.

******************************************

Heero walked up to a large warehouse. He glanced around, “this is it?” He thought, “No security, nothing…” He walked into a very dark room and grasped his gun firmer. He felt a presence by him but by then it was too late, instead of an assault like he had expected, the person wrenched the gun from his hand. The lights flicker on and out rang a very loud sound, he closed his eyes to the blinding light…

“SURPRISE!” they all shouted.

Heero looked around the room, in the center was Relena standing in a very nice dress; all his other friends were there too. He shook his head, “I’m dreaming,” he thought.

“Hiya” said Duo clapping him on the shoulder.

“Happy birthday,” said Relena blushing uncontrollably.

“What is this?” he said looking around in astonishment at the streamers and balloons hung all over.

“This,” said Wufei, “Is a dumb idea.”

“No it’s a great idea, Woofers,” said Sally.

“Duo…” he said looking daggers, he wanted an explanation NOW, and he felt useless without his gun.

“Looking for this?” asked Kyoko.

“But…but..” the usually silent controlled gundam pilot at lost for words.

Relena bit her lip, “Heero, I uhh didn’t know when your birthday was, but I thought I’d have a party for you, and well…I knew you’d never come…” she trailed off into an explanation. The whole thing had been an elaborate plan (thought of by TROWA none the less!!!!!!) to get him to come to a party, in his honor.

“But what about you???” he asked pointing at Kyoko.

“I am someone Duo met and asked to play the part, actually I owed him one. It’s done now so if you will excuse me I’ll probably only be back if the writer wants me to be” Heero was pretty edgy at first, but because of the fact that Duo (EVEN unknown to ME the writer) added some wine to the punch he relaxed quite nicely and rather enjoyed the evening.

The End

Disclaimer: I wanna own Gundam wing, but sadly they aren’t for sale. Some rich guy owns them and just so all his weasely little lawyers don’t have a hay day with me because of one story, I’ll admit their not mine. Kyoko however IS mine, she is based on a character from a dream, if you ask me first you may use her. E-mail me at [email protected].
