In the town of Midgar, Everything is run by Shinra. The rich live on the top, while evryone else live in the slums.
You play a character call Cloud, an Ex-Member of the elite group called "Soldier".
But now you fight to stop Shinra. With you are Tifa, your childhood friend and Barett, The man with a gun for one arm. Your headquarters is at a bar in sector 7. Here Baretts daughter lives.
Anyway, one of your missions to stop Shinra goes wrong and you end you meeting a strange woman called Aeris. However it turns out that Shinra are also after her.
Aeris is then captured by Shinra as Baretts daughter was going to be harmed. After hearing this, he decides to help Cloud and Tifa - who were already gonna goto Shinra's HQ to get her back.
During this we learn more about Clouds dark history and also of a man called Sephiroth, an elite warrior who vanished several years back. After making his dark arrival to Shinra's HQ.
