| It was a dark and stormy night.Ryunuske was taking a leak in a back alley when he met little Nuku,a small kitten at the time.A car chase and a gun battle later,poor Nakus body was killed and her brain is placed in the NK-1124 android,,the powerful machine that his father Kyusaku was working on for Mashima Heavy Indrustries. Of Course , the fact that he had stolen the android from Mashima was what started the car chase and gun battle in the first place.And the fact that Kyusaku's wife (and Ryunuske's mother) runs Mishima doesnt help things either. Thus is born Nuku Nuku, an ndroid witha heart of gold and the mind of a kitty-cat. At first, it seems like Nuku,s going to have a little trouble fitting in as a high school student, but her innate "kawaii"-ness wins her more attention than is expected. And just when evrything seems to be rturning tonormal, Ryunuske's mothr Akiki decides to gt her runaway son back so she sens her two secretaries to retrieve him... with anarmored gunship! Leave it to Nuku Nuku to protect her"brother" and teach the girls from Mishima a lesson. The adventure doesn't stop there though. As things look like they're getting patched up between Kyusaku and Akiko, anothr android schoolgirl shows up. This one does's have the brain of the cat. Oh no. Eimi has a hi-performand Al that is a little high-strung. And Eimi wants Nuku ... dead! Things begin to get even weirder when we find out what Eimi plans on doing with Nuku's body after she's killed her! This is a fine example of how a series can actually get better as it progresses. While not as well-known or popular as Tenchi, this series is just as good! The animation, while it does begin to slip up a bit at the end, is nevertheless very crative and emotive. The pstel color schemes enhance the comedic effect. Surprisingly, this sries was created by Yuzo Takada, the man behind Blue Seed and 3X3 Eyes-quite a departure for him. I don't know how bluntly I can put this. If you even remoely like anime comedies, the run out and get this . Clear enough? TV Series Started broadcast in Japan in January 1998. |
