| The crowd was chanting, eagerly awaiting the concert to begin. A youth that stood backstage tightened the shoulder strap of his guitar and took a deep breath. He was clad only a pair of skintight, heavily faded jeans that supported several holes and a leather muscle shirt. His waist length hair was pulled back into a neat braid to keep it from his face during performances. Once the electric guitar was secured across his slender but powerful shoulder, he dashed onto the brightly-lit stage. The cheer that followed his entrance was a massive uproar of teenage voices and screams. Bathing in their attention, he grinned and spoke into the microphone that was fastened around his ear, Are you ready to rock? His velvet voice blasted from the speakers to fill the massive auditorium. The answering yell nearly drowned him out; he laughed, Then lets get this party on! At his cue, four other teenagers romped onto the stage. The tallest of them joined the other guitarist at the front of the stage, a base guitar hanging from his broad shoulders. His chestnut colored hair was spiked over one of his emerald eyes; he was the favorite among the female fans. Of the others that had followed him on, a sweet tempered blonde slid behind his keyboard and started their beat. Their Japanese drummer picked up the same rhythm, adding additional sounds to the mix. A slim girl with a pixie cut flipped on her mike and their concert burst into full swing. The pounding beat of hard metal rock soon replaced the steady throb of a thousand hearts. Three teenage voices laced into the music in perfect harmony. The screaming, cheering and blaring rock continued for hours into the steadily ebbing night. When it ended, all five of the teens were doused in sweat and breathing heavily from pleasing their crowd. They went offstage once the lights were killed, their audience still screaming. The longhaired electric guitarist whooped happily, That was great, you hear them?! They love us! Quatre smiled faintly with a yawn, Yep, and our encore can wait, Im sleepy. The two other boys agreed, though for different reasons. Duo un-strapped his guitar and set it down, Man, you guys are so dull. The whole lot of you. Hilde removed her ear mike and traced the definition of Duos muscles through his leather shirt; I have no intention of being dull tonight. Lets go to your room. The amethyst eyed youth was already headed in that direction, Well then, come on if youre coming. Once the door was closed, the dark-haired girl unzipped his shirt and slid it from his slim form, You did a great job on stage tonight, I think you deserve a reward. He laughed and shook his head, And do you intend on being the one to award me? Hilde smiled as she pushed him onto the bed hed occupied the past few nights theyd preformed and began to toy with the button of his pants, Yep. As her tapered fingers undid the top of his well-worn jeans, he caught her hands with his, Hilde This isnt a very good idea. His tone was serious, confusing her; he was very rarely in a mood like that. Whats the matter, Duo? You dont want me? The idea infuriated her, she hadnt spent all this time on him for him to turn her down, Weve been dating for nearly two years and you wont have me? Duo sighed, choosing delicate words for her; I care for you to much for this. If I sleep with you, theres a pretty good chance that youre going to get sick. I dont want that to happen. Hilde got off him with disgust, You mean, you have an S.T.D.? The war orphan sat up, wincing at her harsh terminology and thought of the upcoming moon, In a way, sort of. Thats why I didnt ever ask you for that. I dont want you getting hurt. In a huff, the shorthaired young woman got off his bed and went to the door, If youd told me sooner, I wouldnt have wasted so much time on you. Her words stung sharply, kindling a deep anger, Wasted time?! That That! He couldnt bring the curse out; he still loved her. Torn, Duo got to his feet, the night called him. The moon would soothe him; it swelled, it was so near to being full. Telling no one, the ex-soldier tossed on his jacket and took the back entrance to avoid the mobbing crowds. He slid astride his managers motorcycle and hot-wired it, peeling out of the underground garage with the smell of burnt rubber. Due to the late hour, very few people were on the road. Taking his gaze from the beaten path, Duo lifted his eyes to the starless blanket above him, he would drive until he could see those points of light. Duo returned early the next morning only to receive a thorough chewing out from Wufei, You go out without telling anyone or taking a bodyguard and you do so with my motorcycle?! Thats unacceptable! He continued to yell, but Duo tuned him out as he poured himself a cup of coffee, Wufei, do you mind? Ive had a long night. The ebony-eyed Chinese glowered at him, pure fury radiated from him, And we spent half of it looking for you, ass wipe! Shrugging him off, Duo entered the lounge theyd been using as their living room and stopped dead in his tracks. Heero occupied the couch, still half asleep, his hand the majority of the way up Hildes skirt. She was lying in his lap, Duo noted that his jeans were undone. Amethyst gaze smoldering, he advanced on them before remembering his discussion with Hilde the previous night. She didnt want a man unless he could give what she wanted, where he had failed at that, Heero had apparently succeeded. Duo hurled his coffee mug to the floor; it exploded in a storm of black liquid and ceramic. The crash snapped the lovers into a state of full consciousness, only to see the longhaired youth push Wufei out of his way to leave. Heero blinked several times and rubbed the sleep from his eyes, What the hell is his problem?! In three days time, two things occurred at once. The moon came into full view and the Wild Wing Boys had their next concert. The lead singer was still blinded by his own anger and this realization didnt occur to him. On the stage, he sang the harshest songs he knew; though what theyd practiced had been entirely different. The others just went with him, all the while giving each other questioning glances. The concert was in full swing when the moon climbed over the edge of the stadium to peer inside. Duo stopped in mid-verse, as did his guitar, he slowly tilted his face to it. Gradually, the voices of the other instruments came to a halt, their players watching him. Their fans, unaware, continued cheering. The green-eyed youth to Duos left put a hand on his trembling shoulder, Whats the matter? Hey Duo, anybody home? He suddenly doubled over, clutching his stomach fiercely; a moan escaped his tightly pressed lips. Trowa kneeled beside him until the flesh he was touching sprouted dark brown fur, he leapt to his feet with surprise, What the hell?! Duo shuddered as his muscles stretched and his bones took new shape. His band members fled from the stage as Hilde screamed, Heero carried her. Duo shivered again, his clothes ripped as he grew to big for them. Once he stood on all fours, he returned his gaze to the crowd, growling softly. They continued to cheer. He dashed from the stage in the opposite direction from his band members, disappearing behind the set. Wufei intercepted the others, What the hell are you doing, get back out there! We still have a show to do! The three boys all began speaking at once, talking of fur, a wolf and Duo. The Chinese manager shoved them back onto the stage, I dont care what Duo turned into, youre going to finish this show! They tentatively returned to playing, eyes darting nervously as they kept watch for the creature. A slender girl slid backstage, her knee length hair flashed red despite the shadows. Her emerald gaze scanned the darkness slowly, Whered you go? Two glowing points appeared from within a packing crate, a soft whimper with them. She kneeled before it, the smell of wolf drifted from her, pulling Duo from his hiding place. The girl smiled faintly and offered her hand to him, he smelled it. His tail fanned the air; she had the definite smell of kindred. The blue eyed wolf crawled into her lap, she stroked his fur, You thought you were alone, didnt you? So did I, for the longest time Armed only with a chicken bone, the solitary dragon stepped slowly into the darkness, Duo, where the hell are you? Ive got chicken. He whistled sharply, Here Duo, Duo, Duo, come here damn it I need you to go back on stage whether youve got fur or not! A soft voice caused him to jump, its tones were cold, You want to kill him? Chicken is horrible for any sort of canine, even wolf. He whirled to find a young teenager with an oversized hound lying in her lap, she was glaring at him, Right, no chicken then. He tossed the bone over his shoulder to make a low thud on a crate, So who are you supposed to be then? The green eyed girl grinned, her teeth pearls in the shadow, A fellow Loupe Guru and the newest chosen companion of your singer as I was just told by him. He doesnt want to return to the stage tonight, and he wont be able to as the full moon shines down upon him. He was scratched under her light, not born, and thus must obey her when she shows her complete face. Wufei nodded, though he understood little of what shed just said, Alright, if thats what he wants. Um, we should reschedule when its not a full moon then? The bright eyed girl sighed, Worry about that later, where is his room? |
