No
Newtype experience can be gained in simulation battles.
The
simulation battles used by aircraft pilots and infantry in the UC is the same as
that used by our modern day military. As such will not be listed here. Only the
simulation battles used by mobile suit pilots will be listed.
Light
Beam
Terrain:
space and space surface
The
energy output of the beam weapons is reduced to the point where it is not able
to inflict damage. (This includes all beam blades.) Also projectile based hand
held weapons are replaced with harmless beam firing replicas. Any hit to any
section is considered to disable the target. This includes weapons and shields.
Since these weapons are firing low powered harmless beams, their payload is
effectively unlimited. In case of an emergency the pilots are able to reset
their weapons to their original capabilities. (This does not include the beam
firing replicas.) If facing a real opponent, it is possible to trick him into
mistaking light beam training blast for the real thing, only on a successful
intimidate.
Factions:
Earth Federation, Titans
Paintball
Terrain:
land and air
The
ammo for projectile weapons is replaced with paint shells. (Similar to those
used in traditional paintball only much larger.) Your MS is considered disabled
if hit in the main body, pilot compartment, or head. Hits on the arms, legs,
shields, or weapons do not count. No other weapons such as beam sabers or beam
rifles are permitted. Also the vulcan weapons found in most GMs and Gundams are
never loaded with paint rounds.
Factions:
Earth Federation, Titans
V.R.
Engagements
Terrain:
N/A
The
major facilities used by many factions will contain M.S. V.R. equipment. This
equipment is able to generate any battle conditions. The characteristics and
abilities of enemy and ally pilots can even be duplicated (with only an average
3% discrepancy).
Factions:
Zeon, Axis, A.E.U.G., New Decides, Neo Zeon, Anaheim Electronics
