Mail Me for more info| Elves have, for thousands of years, been the the keepers of all things green. They are the gardians of nature, and protect all living things. Elves live primarily in two locations in Isladad, Cypress Grove and Willowsbee. Even tho the Elves do not have an offical captial, it is understood that Cypress Grove is the bigest Elven city in Isladad and where most the key Elven figures live. Many of the Elves helped in building The Great West Wall during the Dark Years, to serve as a defence against The Dead Lands. Elves, by nature, are tall, cold looking creatures, with very high intelligance, agility and very percise persition. ALL of Isladad's finest Archers are Elven as well. | ![]() Players |

| Humans are not from Isladad orginally. They appeared on the shores of Isladad from accross The Sea with no Memory after the first age. They have since made Isladad their home, and belive themselves to be the rulers of this country. During the Dark Years and after The Great War the Humans moved their capital from The City of Kings to Trilion. Some of the Humans who either simply no longer wanted to be under the rule of one king, and those wanting a new life for themselves, instead of moving north, cut east and established Edge City. It simply sits on the edge of the known world, and is looked at as a place of new things and change. All new things in Isladad ALWAYS orginate in this city. Even tho Humans belive themselvs to be the rulers of Isladad, they have a councell set up with the Elves for any desions that effect the country as a whole. That councell is actually held in Cypress Grove. Humans, standing stalkly and even hight with Elves, are fighters and sailors by trade primary, but many men hold all ocupations. | ![]() Picture from ageoflegends.planetmud.com Players |

| Halflings are the backbone of Isladad. Their population makes up the majority of this country, and yet they are simple folk. Living in small communities threw out Isladad, they are primarily farmers, brewers, trades men and craftsmen. The largest Halfling city is Midway, located midway down the River of Time. Mainly a trading post town, this city is constently in a state of flux. Halflings, standing only about half the hight of both Humans and Elves, can be nimble, but are mostly known for their great crafsmen skills, or farming. | ![]() Picture from www.play.net Picture from ageoflegends.planetmud.com Players |

| The Drow were, at one time, part of the Elven race. During the Dark Years, some of the Elves became selfish, uncaring, and mean, tainted by The Dead Lands, and were banished to The Dirty Mountins. The Dirty Mountins got it's name both from it inhabitants, and from the constent black dusty sut that seems to penitrate these mountins. It has been said this is how the Drow got their skin color, from living in these mountins for so long and absorbing the dirt and grime into their vert beening. The Drow care for no one but themselves, even their own kin, and are Kill on Site threw most of Isladad, the Dirty Mountins, being the ONLY exception. The Drow are the best theifs and business men in Isladad, but be weary when making deals with Drow, they would as soon follow thru with their deal as stab you in the back if they got the chance. | ![]() Picture from www.realms.force9.co.uk Players |

| Dwarves live in the Dwarvin Mountins, and have been the protectors of Isladad since the building of the Great Wall. It was the idea of the Dwarf's to build the wall as the first line of defence against The Dead Lands. Dwarf's tend to keep to themselves and only talk to those they need to. Even the location of the Dwarvin cities is only known to them, and any time a dwarf is seen outside of the mountins is only on offial bussiness. The Dwarves are still upset at the Humans for "taking away was is rightfully theirs" in trying to rule Isladad, and therefore, no longer offer their services to them. The worlds best armor, wepons, and metal works all come from the Dwarfs. | ![]() Copyright John Howe Players |

Isladad was a peaceful land for thousands and thousands of years. With it's natural borders surounding the country, there was very little for them to worry about. Not many people venchured past Isladad's borders, and those that did, more often then not, did not come back. The Elves in Willosbee started to notice a change in their woods over a long period of time which was drawing consern. Their woods practicaly made the border to Isladad, but they seemed to be receeding, things dying, and trees looking unatural and twisted.
The Elves in Willowsbee then took this to the Elven Council in Cypress Grove, and the desion was made to send a team thru the Willowsbee Forest, past the point that was known, and to find a reason for the dying forrest. A group of 5 Human Warriors, 1 Dwarven Cleric, and 6 Elven Archers Set out thru the woods of Willosbee, and on to The Unknown.
In a months time, the group made it's way back to The Elven Council in Cypress Grove, but only with 1 Warrior, 1 Archer, and the Dwarven Cleric. They told tales of hidius creatures eating their own dead after they killed them, trees that talked and caught you by the foot and kept you there for something else to eat you later, and even things that look like they could be Elves, but are much larger, and increadibly strong, with dark skin and razor sharp teeth used for slicing thru the meat of their dead. It was these things that killed most of their group.
It was at this time that the Dwarves spoke up and gave the idea to the council of building a wall to keep those Things out. The council jumped on this idea, and thus the next 10 years were spent building The Great West Wall. It was desided that upkeep of the wall would be done by the Elves of Willowsbee, and defending of the wall be taken care of by the Dwarves.
In the building of the wall, many were lost to The Dead Lands, as they were called. Many would simply run off, pick fights with fellow workers, some would even kill those they were working with and drag them out past the wall. Armed gards were posted with construction crews to attempt to keep this from happening, but, unfortunatly, they were not always sucessful.
The Great West Wall was built as a defence against the The Dead Lands. It took 10 years to build the whole length, and was understood that the Dwarves would protect it, while the Elves would keep it up. After the Great War, the Elves of Willowsbee stoped maintaining the wall, and now parts of this wall have fallen into disrepair. The part of the wall that has fallen fallen the most is the most northern tip where the trees have simply grown thru the wall.
The Willowsbee Elves stopped maintaining the wall after requesting help from Cypress Grove in building it. The Willowsbee Elves were loosing many of their workers, and people to The Dead Lands, and were hard pressed to get all the work done themselves. Cypress Grove responded simply by saying if they continued work on the wall, they would maintain it. So the Willowsbee Elves continued to loose people to The Dead Lands, and still continued work on the wall. After The Great West Wall was finished, Willowsbee then went back to Cypress Grove to ask for them to maintain the wall. Cypress Grove stated they would help, but not do it all on their own, and would send people. Willowsbee waited, and waited and waited, but no troops were sent.
The Willowsbee Elves then sent an offical letter to Cypress Grove, via halfling messenger, stating they would no longer maintain the wall, only their city borders. Still no troops to this day have been sent to The Great West Wall by Cypress Grove or Willowsbee.
During the building of The Great West Wall, many of the Elves that were working on the wall became tainted by The Dead Lands and the taint spread within the Elven comminities. Some of them would even go accross the border, and come back and take others with them. All of this was underground for many years until the fighting over The Great Wall started. The tainted Elves saw this as their chance to break free and take over Isladad.
During the delivery of the letter from Willowsbee to Cypress Grove, while the council was in seasion, the tainted Elves launched an attack on both Cypress Grove and Midway, attempting to criple Isladad. The gaurds of the council fought back the attack to the edge of the Woods, and the troops then fell back to Midway. War ensued accross Isladad after the first attack.
For over 50 years The Great War carried on, the tainted Elves, now known as The Drow, were able to keep the war going with reinforcments from The Dead Lands. Orcs, Goblins, Imps, Animated Skelitons, and hords of other unthinkable creatures flooded Isladad, and rampaged thru the country side.
The council met in secrate in the Dwarvin Mountins, under the protection of the Dwarf's to deside what should be done after the many years of fighting and slaughter had ocured. They desided that a final stand must be made to drive the creatures of The Dead Lands back to where they came. Finally a plan was devised, and put in action. The people of Isladad then attacked from all sides and forced The Drow and their troops down The River of Time to The City of Kings, and the final battle ensued.
The people of Isladad forced The Drow into the city, and the Dwarven Cleric's, Mages, and Wizzards, with the help of Elven Mages as well, cast a spell on the city to bind The Drow and their forces to it and to stop all magic from being used. Once this was done the rest of the army of Isladad marched in and slaughtered The Drow and their troops. It took more then a month to kill them all and to keep them from coming back, but the war was won.
After the war, the remaining Drow were collected and marched accross The Plains into The Diry Mountins.
The City of Kings was, at one time, the understood capital of Isladad. It was the ONLY Human city for thousands of years, before The Great War. Once The Great War broke out, the people in this city fled due to being over run by the Drow and their troopes. They fled to the forrests and surounding areas. The Drow ravaged the city, and tore it down to ruins in their rampages, and used it as a jump point into Isladad for many years. After the final battle, when the war was won, the Humans wanted a new start and no longer wanted to feel the pain of living in their once glorious city, and founded a new capital.
The City still stands to this day, a monument to those lost in The Great War. Many say that the souls, both of Isladad and The Drow's army, still linger in this city, tortured souls till the end of time. No one will come even close to this city now, it's once amazing towers and churches, now rubble and ruin.
The Plains in Isladad make up almost a quarter of the country, and are completely dessert. They sit just east of The River of Time and meld into The Dirty Mountins. Nothing lives, or grows in The Plains, and many people have never made it out, some even say that the sands open up and eat you whole.
