Home Army Stuff

I Joined the Army in 1988 and reported to Initial Entry Training (Boot Camp) at Fort Sill, Oklahoma in Feb of 1989.

I was with Delta Battery 1st of the 33rd FA. Had the BEST Drill Sergeants. (D/S Barnes, Roach, O'Dell)  Here I developed my love for Field Artillery, The KING OF BATTLE.

My first reserve duty station was Bravo Battery 5th Battalion 5th Field Artillery, 187th Infantry Brigade, 77th ARCOM.  We were located at Fort Tilden, NY our piece was a 105mm towed M-101.

During Operation Desert Storm I was with Gun-5, Bravo Battery, 1st Battalion, 201st Field Artillery of West "By God" Virginia.  We were attached to the 18th Airborne Corps supporting French troops on the ground.

We were in M-109 Howitzer similar to the one pictured at left.

After 9 Months 2 Days and 14 Hours I was back in the States.

I relocated to Albany after completing studies at Nassau Community College and had to find a new unit.

I joined the 1 BN, 389 REGT, 2 BDE, 98 DIV in 1993

I am a Combat Engineer Drill Sergeant with Charlie Company.
