[05:12pm] R.I.P. Barnabas...3/26/06
- 3/28/07...
Young Barnabas came from PetSmart in Corona, and was
personally picked one day in March of last year. His happy little personality
caught my attention immediately, and Barnabas and Paul were both one of the
first to form the X-Tank.

Over time, his bubbles grew larger and more beautiful, even
though one side was always bigger than the other. It only added to his goofy and
silly personality. =) He loved to eat, and would even run into the the water
filtering into the tank to get as much as he could, even though it would push
his dorsal-less fin self down to the bottom. He'd just get back up and go on
back up for more munchies. =) He recognized me, I think, as the giver of food,
ha ha ha...and he often wiggled in front of me when I stared at him and wiggled
my head at him...and for a while, he loved his little tube, and wouldn't let the
others come into his little special little niche in the X-Tank. =)

He burst his bubble somehow one fateful Wednesday last week,
and since then, his health declined, while others in the tank seemed fine. Try
as I might, he would not heal...on his last days, his eyes would flicker when he
saw me, and he would make every effort to wiggle a little my way, but he didn't
have the strength to do too much. He was my favoritest. =) If there were
goldfish in heaven, I betcha God would play with Barnabas too. ^_^
03.27.07, Tuesday
[07:12pm] I've been much away from the online world, heh heh...thank
you dear friends, for your concerns...it's been busy, but God works things out
well. =) In a giant nutshell...
- My mom went to the hospital last
week and ended up staying there for a few days. She had some weird,
heart-squeezing feelings and they were consistently going on with only a
minute or two intervals between them, and it had me concerned. So we took her
to the hospital, she ended up staying, they did a bunch of tests, and to make
a long story short, her heart is extremely healthy, as well as her
cholesterol. If anything, my dad blames it on Basmati Rice (another long
story, ha ha...you'll just have to ask me about it). ^_^
- The same day my mom was in the hospital,
my dad felt sick too, and stayed home. Turns out, it was the
Basmati Rice. It strikes again. =)
- And on that same day ALSO,
Barnabas popped one of his eye bubbles!!! =( I don't know what
happened, because I came home and there it was...or wasn't...and since then,
his health has declined rapidly down. =( He didn't eat yesterday nor
today...and he loves to eat...When he first popped the bubble, he wouldn't
even look at me. Instead, he'd turn around and look down in shame...but after
a while, he seemed to get better, but then it went down again. =( I don't know
if he'll make it tonight...he barely breathes, and he still will try to wiggle
about when he sees me looking at him, but his breathing is slowed, his body is
bent, a bubble is gone, and there are tiny black spots on his body. Not
parasitic, but not sure what they are...=( I've had this little guy for more
than a year, and he's my favorite...so my heart is sad...=(
- 87 and
88 are awake and munching away whenever
possible...
- We were NOT going to go to Six Flags this year because of
the increase (it doubled!) in bus costs. $700 to $800 a bus is just way too
much...so I told the parents and students about its cancellation. I got a lot
of support back from everyone, with ideas and everything...and one
parent...she wanted to donate $1000 (!!!) for my
classroom in whatever way I saw fit...plus a lot of praise about
her daughter loving science now and so on, hee hee...but it was way too
cool...and now...we're going to Six Flags! =) I feel honored and blessed. It
made me remember when I was at Staples last summer, buying tons of markers for
the classroom, and the guy in front of me gave me almost $20 worth of coupons
off my total order, only because I was a teacher!
Goodness can be found everywhere. =)
- We had
Urban Thai
on Thursday night. It was pretty amazing Americanized Thai food. I'd go there
quite often if I had the money to eat out more, ha ha ha...
- Nina and I Friday'ed it
up again at the MoVal Mall. She gets two weeks off for spring break. I'm
totally jealous. =) While there, we spotted a Mike A.
Hello Mike A.! =)
- Takako,
Ros and I trekked about
Downtown Fullerton
last weekend, finding hole-in-wall vintage shops, cutesy places, Harajuku
Lovers Tshirts for $44 (that we didn't buy, ha ha, but liked), a House
of Bibles, and all that other good stuff. Mmm...Brownstone
Cafe's Tomato Basil Soup is soooo fantastic...and their Chicken
Bruitaliano sandwich tingled my tastebuds to no end. =) For dessert, we went
to
Yogurt Land. WOW...I so love it! I had mango and espresso yogurt, topped
with graham crackers, almond slices, kiwi fruit and mango fruit. =)
- Met up with the Wismers
on Sunday after a great FoCus meeting to
go over yet more wedding plans. Everything is going smoothly and moving
along great! =) Lauren visited on Sunday,
and Vanessa and
Michael were all back for break too! ^_^
- But with all these things going on nonstop...it pretty much
left me away from the computer...I have much to catch up, and still have to
gummyify TYOMEEL, meet up with my swing buddy one day, Julia another, Giang as
ALWAYS ^_^, and a bunch of people that I still want to see and play with! =)
03.21.07, Wednesday
[07:55am] Status: Started approx. 6pm. Arrived 8pm but not
accepted till probably 9 or 9:30pm. Stayed till 2am. Woke up at 7:33am. Am going
to go back. Continue to pray.
And I don't know what happened, but I got back and am looking
at the tank this morning, and Barnabas's bubble is completely about gone, and
he's pretty listless, floating at the top...WHAT HAPPENED?!?!? O_o I'm gone all
night, and something happened - he was perfectly happy yesterday...I'm reeeeally
worried...he's dying...=(
03.20.07, Tuesday
[06:10am] But one of the most important things lately???
GIANG GOT INTO REHAB!!!!!!!!! Aghhh! It's
like the most exciting news ever! ^_^ Congrats homegirl! ^_^ Plus, she'll be
nearby, so we can still go out to play after work, ha ha ha...this year and next
year and forever and ever...muah ha! =)
Now, if I can get Huy to
have some time to play too, cuz he's not too far away either...hee hee...even
though I don't get to see him much, he still reads this and offers medical and
fish advice when something happens, ha ha ha...I love all my friends! They're so
awesome, all the time. I really am blessed. =)
03.19.07, Monday
[09:55pm] Hmm. Now I'm getting a notice from 1&1 that my
website will expire on 4.10.07. Let's see if it happens...=P
Much has happened since 2 weeks ago...all good and wonderful
stuff, of course, cuz God is good and His blessings are endless! ^_^ Even the
toughie situations work themselves out for His glory. Woo hoo! =)
- The fish tank is now getting clearer and clearer by the
hour, thanks to SuperPets and
Shelton, hee hee. Yay!
- Hong Kong Egg Waffles...mmm...and
now, Cecilia has some terrific ones at their place! I would need to go visit
them more, and beg for more waffles like a fat kid loves cake.
Or like a
Hong Kong kid loves Egg Waffles. =)

- We took Wedding Studio and Outdoor Pics on Saturday. Wow.
It's tough to be one of those model people - all this fussing and changing
clothes and hairstyles, told to look "natural" when you're asked to pose in
totally unnatural poses...muah ha...it was fun, but it took literally all day,
with very little to eat and even drink! I don't think I got any water for the
whole however many hours we were there. Afterwards, we came home and I washed
all the hairspray out of my hair before relaxing finally, heh heh...
- Fish & Horseshoes is
going awesome! =) Here's Nina's and
Megan's version of Heaven, when we were
studying about it a while ago. I didn't get a chance to get
Timmy's, but it was hilarious - there was
him, super tall (that's one of his "prayer stars"...to be taller than Yao
Ming...we'll see what God says, ha ha...), and Yao Ming significantly
shorter...and then in a teeny tiny corner was Lebron James. Ha ha! =) And
Asa's was also another fun one to imagine
- him standing in a field with a million hummingbirds, some on his head and
hands, and a hummingbird feeder here and there, heh heh. His big obsession
lately (actually, for a long time) have been hummingbirds, and it's funny to
hear about it when Ed was telling us about it, hee hee hee. =)

- Speaking of Ed - this
weekend's sermon was POWERFUL. Another one of those sermons that shook the
whole house. God speaks through this man, and he is still my Yoda!
- Aqua and I zoomed off
to Kelly's Coffee and Fudge to scourge the online world for scholarships on
Friday, and then filled up with Spam Musubi, Crispy Shrimp (and their
TAILS! YES! I got her to eat one! Muah ha!), Island Curry Chicken, and
most importantly, Macaroni Salad! ^_^ All that before heading to prayer
meeting, where not much was going on except for optical illusions, music, and
Lego Spiderman. =)
- Derrick, Shelton, and I
took a break on Sunday to go to
beard papa's. Mmmmm!
I loooove their cream puffs. Afterwards, Shelton and I went back to meander at
Dos Lagos, which was way closer than I realized, just in time for free
samples at the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory...and another sample of beard
papa's. =)
- I made fields...
...and fields

...of goodies tonight for tomorrow's all day textbook meeting.
Rice Krispies Treats, Jeffrie's Haystacks, and Orange Cranberry Muffins. Don't
they look mighty yummy???

I even put them in an Albertson's box that I had snagged a
while ago to hold onto all of these goodies. =)

^_^
03.07.07,
Wednesday:
[09:22pm] I came back, and poor
Barnabas...his bubble was stuck into the filter, and he couldn't get
it out! I freaked out, praying he wouldn't die from having his eyeball pulled
out (although that usually doesn't happen. Usually it's still just the bubble
that will pop. But he's my favorite, and I worry about him. I want him to live
and grow super big. ^_^), ha ha...and he didn't (yay God!). I pulled
the plug out to stop the filter, put some gloves on and then wiggled the filter
- he couldn't get it out, and I was worrieed he'd yank himself too hard, so I
kept moving it around until *poof* He was free! =) His bubble is a little bit
smaller though...but it's intact.
I covered the filter up with nylon, all around and below, and
thought it was working fine until just a few seconds ago. He's stuck again! Is
the filter way too powerful?
I fed them some peas, to help with
Grover Cleveland's digestive system...heh heh...^_^ Everyone got
some. Even Barnabas, who is not as strong as a swimmer as all the other fish,
who have dorsal fins. =)
Ah, here's a picture of the new hair...^_^

03.06.07,
Tuesday:
[09:54pm] Another weekly update? Heh heh. In brief:
- Heroes
is AWESOME. April 23rd? What the eff?!?!?
Ah, but I will wait, because there's nothing I could do yet to find out what
happens to Claire's dad, Peter and Sylar, see that useless Mohinder fellow
die, and most importantly, what's going to happen to
Hiro and his
buddy Ando. =)
- Santee Street on Saturday was crazy packed. But
Lorie, Tako,
Anna, and I found our way to bacon wrapped
hot dogs and deals all around!
- I permed my hair! Ha ha
ha! A Japanese ionic style perm, where they electrically hooked up the curlers
to some scary looking machine that lights up. It's curly, but not overly
scary, and well, yep...I like it. =) Pictures up soon! WHY, you may ask?
Wedding stuff. My mom. That sums it up.
- Salsa and Tease at your nearest 24 Hour Fitness. Heh heh.
Fun. =) Although Tease did get a bit scandalous at the end. =P j/k j/k...I
still like Hip Hop best...Kenya, come baaaaaack...!
- Watching my students play bball was awesome. They almost
beat the teachers - we were short a point. Arg. But it was fun! More fun than
what happened to
Shaun Livingston anyways. =P
- I need to catch up on gummying up
TYOMEEL again, ha
ha ha...and OH! I got the
King cake!
My first ever, and straight from New Orleans. Thank you! I'm totally making
it. =)
- More wedding stuff and pre-wedding stuff is being planned.
And it's going good. And Oooooo...methinks it's all gonna be fun, fun,
fun...^_^
- Fish tank still cloudy, but the fish have been fine...it
bothers me though. Greedy, greedy Grover Cleveland
keeps getting
constipated. =P
