06.29.06, Thursday:
[06:42pm] Today is much better. =) I mean, I can't eat much still, but everything's getting better. Heh heh, just in time for tomorrow's yankage, right? =)
Today can also be summed up in a bunch of fun pictures...from some of what I ate, to the coconut macaroons baked, and the new friends made...Enjoy! ^_^
I made them myself, but they do need a good home. Some of these fellas have been or will be adopted already...but if there's a particular one in mind you'd want to take home, do let me know, and if I can, I'll save them for you. =)
06.27.06, Tuesday:
[10:05pm] All I wanna do is eat...=(
...but I'm still very hungry...
...I try...but...
"It buuuuurns, master...it burns...!" *cries Smeegal*
Even baby food, Ensure, super-soft avocado, and the nicely roasted chicken wing meat (when torn in tiny pieces) I made for my parents and bro to eat for dinner tonight.
It's frustrating. But at least half of those evil ulcers in my throat this morning disappeared when I woke up. Thanks God. =) And I found that sliced canned peaches works really well, watermelon, as well as mung bean vermicelli. =) I will try well-diluted cream of chicken, an energy drink, and some of the regular stuff that's still here tomorrow. What else can I do to pass the time tomorrow, besides watch an enormous amount of the telly? Maybe replay my keyboard again. Paint my toenails. Play Sudoku. Heh heh. ^_^
Some ulcers though, I think, migrated to the front of my tongue. So my tongue, some still on the gums, and the other half of my mouth still has these little critters in there. My mouth is a s c a a a a a a r y site, I tell you now. >_<
When I'm done with all these teeth stuff, I'm gonna cook up a storm and EAT IT ALL! Ha ha ha...see the cool list of things I'm making on the right? That's right. Food Network and I are still friends. =) Oh, but like always, it's more fun to share. You can all come and eat too. =)
06.25.06, Sunday:
[01:45am] I'm a little drowsy...but because of a crazy few days of sleeping weird, eating weird and feeling downright sucky, it's awake time for me...though drowsy because of the Vicodin...if none of this makes sense, you can ignore it, ha ha...
So, the adventures of the past few days...
First, China is completely cancelled. No go for me later. I lose the $200 but will get the rest of the plane ticket fee in 6 months returned.
Second, medical condition:
So, the dentist prescribed me 500 mg of Amoxicillin, and 800 mg of Ibuprofen, since I wouldn't be able to take my wisdom teeth out till next Friday, and the infection wasn't making anything better. After 5 doses, it didn't really do anything. Instead, like malaria, there was this pattern of where right before my 8 hours was up for the next dose, my temperature would start rising up, I'd start getting really uncomfortable, and so on...I take the meds...but for an hour afterwards, things just get worst and I'll nap it off - and wake up 30 to 60 minutes later with a 102 degrees fever...more ice packs and cold towels on my head and neck...sleep it off...wake up with about a 101 degrees fever...ice packs and cold towels again...sleep...wake up...99.9'ish and I'd be up and eat a little and slowly, the temperature would get to normal again...until the cycle starts again. That means I'd have about 4 hours of okay-ness...not very effective medication...it was frustrating and sad. =(
And eating was sucky, because I could feel the infection affecting part of my throat and starting to go up my ears, and it'd hurt to swallow water, swallow food, or anything. In fact, I learned what it REALLY means to eat like a bird. Not just do you eat very little, but you chew only with the front teeth and break up all the foods - just like how a bird uses its beak to crack and crunch up the seeds - before swallowing it all up.
I called Sammy Wong, the best doctor (and a mentor!) that I know, and told him what was going on. He said that the Amox wasn't doing the job, and I needed Clindamycin or Augmentum instead...and that I may have some sort of abscess
[7:41am] continued, as I think the Vicadin got to me, ha ha...
growing in there now, and to call the on-call dentist with my health insurance, or get one from Kaiser. I wasn't sure if Kaiser's Urgent Care was still open at that time, so while on hold for 15 minutes with the Kaiser nurse lady (that's when I tried calling you Huy! Hee hee...I was hoping you could write a Rx for me if I couldn't get anyone) and finally found out that Urgent Care was open till half an hour later. So off I went, with Shelton driving me, finally saw someone who was awesome and prescribed several things:
Though the doctors at Kaiser have always been great (Yay Huy! Yay Andrew!) the pharmacy was always slow here. And I waited for an hour and 15 minutes for mine...after an hour, when they called my name, they actually retook the order back and had to "fix" something, and I wasn't happy, heh heh. But since I've taken this new regimen of stuff, I do feel much better. =) Not much of a fever. Yay! Though a little drowsy at time...and those scary little ulcers do hurt when I swallow even saliva, but definitely...
...much better than how I was all day yesterday...
So boys and girls...do listen to your dentist when they tell you to take out your wisdom teeth. It doesn't matter if your parents say they never needed it...cuz if you don't, you might end up like this. >_<
06.23.06, Friday:
[10:46am] Looks my trip to China is...cancelled. =(
Well, delayed. No BLCU for me this summer. =( But since it costs no money to delay and use the ticket within a year, my parents and I decided it'd be best for me to hold onto it and use it later this summer, after my wisdom teeth (all FOUR!) are extracted. Oy. So I will have them yank out these teeth soon, heal, and maybe still be able to visit Asia sometime later. I'm sad, because I really wanted to go to BLCU and continue to advance in my reading and writing Chinese. As well as ride the buses and learn how to use them again, use my Beijing-ese-arrrrr, shop by doing some crazy bargaining, walk all over to my heart's delight, visit Christie and Mike and Caden, visit Amy and her brother and Auntie Vivian, give Mr. Lou a very cool violin back, visit XiAan, Inner Mongolia, the Ming Tombs, where the Great Wall meets the ocean, go cherry picking, and last but not least, to see all my wonderful relatives in Hong Kong, tasting real HK wedding banquet food in celebrating Karen and Chester's wedding, finding Veronica at a restaurant in Mongkok, shopping with Alice Kae-Ma, bargaining with my Kou Mo, and hanging out with my Ma-Ee.
However, I can look at it on the bright side - not all will be lost. And instead of paying 200 some dollars for the cancellation fee, I won't have to pay to just delay the ticket. And I won't have to pay the $420 and the under $300 for the tuition and dorm fees, and saving a couple of hundred bucks is definitely nice. (Hmm...however a good chunk will probably go to dental fees...blah...)
And my wisdom teeth will be out, causing no more fevers, no more infection, and much happier Gummychild will be before all of you! =)
I did the second half of my teeth in my deep cleaning and irrigation this morning, and because of the fainting yesterday, decided to try it without the local anesthesia first (and if it was unbearable, then they could poke needles in my gums). It wasn't so bad at all - a little poke here and there, but nothing too painful. So yeah - if you guys ever have to pay for anesthesia for something like deep cleaning, you can do without. =)
06.22.06, Thursday:
[07:25pm] Yesterday was fun - I went to visit Shelton, and we got to eat...THE WORST TAQUITOS EVER!!!! Ha ha ha...>_<
Ramon's Mexican Grill, off El Toro Parkway. Don't ever go!
They gave me 2 taquitos instead of 3. They forgot one, saying that they don't usually use the menu that is hanging in front of the cash register counter. Hmm. So they gave me another one later. The guacamole was salty as salty could be...a poor avocado was wasted! I love avocados!
Inside my taquito was not the usual chicken meat. It was actually fried chicken (from Monday, from the looks of it, as their Monday special is Fried Chicken!), and it had been fried before - you could taste it. They reuse their fried chicken in their taquitos!
And it wasn't just us. There were 3 sets of customers there - one was to go, so we didn't hear anything, but the other was sitting there next to us and one girl brought her food back up to the counter saying there was something weird and unnatural in it, so they refunded her her money and she had no lunch as she had rush back to work with her friend.
Sigh. The fries were good though? And Shelton says his Carne Asada Burrito was good. =)
We visited a few pet stores, in hopes of finding another Akitoki, but to no avail. However, we came across an Omar's Exotic Birds shop. I love birds. And these birds were all outside for people to pet and play with! There was even a toucan (in a cage though. Kinda sad, as all the other ones were free and out and about, but this one was inside. Probably not trained yet.) and it looked fake! I thought it was a stuffed animal at first, until it started jumping around! This was better than the zoo, because these animals were loved and taken care of well. I was particularly fond of the Catalina Macaw, who was very partial to my head and neck scratching, hee hee. ^_^
Afterwards, we watched The Attractive One. Like most HK romantic comedies, it was cheesy and silly - but enough to keep my attention, make mee laugh, and like it overall. =)
Dinner was a wonderful array of rice - slippery egg with beef rice, and ying-yeung rice, which is a rice plate where half of it is covered with a tomato/chicken/onions topping, and the other half with a white, creamy sauce with shrimp.
I had woke up feeling weird Wednesday, and by the time dinner ended, I wasn't feeling any better, even though I had eaten. =( That's not normal for me. =( So I went to sleep, and kept getting up this morning...3am...4am...
I couldn't go to camp today. =( Why? See the email below (I edited my grammar mistakes from earlier...I was still a little tired, ha ha..)
****
Hi,
Thought I should update briefly - and thank you for your prayers. =)
After that last email about what happened, I took some aspirin and it helped a little with the fever. I didn't feel like eating much, and so my mom made me a small bowl of "jook" to help.
I went to the dentist, and his suggestion was to take out my wisdom teeth - but since I'm in China soon, he recommended that I do so afterwards. Because I haven't been to the dentist in a while *cough* they did a deep cleaning on half of my mouth, which led to a swollen mouth/gum for a bit before I could eat.
After visiting Ed and Margaret =) my mom and I went to Coco's, where I could get some soft stuff to eat - cream of broccoli soup and mashed potatoes, fish for my mom and so on, but while trying to eat there, I couldn't stomach it. At one point, I felt like I was going to either throw up or black out, and next thing I knew, I was passed out at Coco's (actually dreaming for a bit, I believe!), people surrounding me and putting a wet towel on my face, and I was sweating like crazy. 911 had been called, and the fire truck came.
Actually, after passing out, i felt much better as if the fever finally did a bit of breaking and so after they checked my vitals, I decided to go home instead of the hospital. I've been asleep until about half an hour ago, when I got up to eat little more for dinner.
So in short, the story goes:
Wisdom tooth teething out --> Infected --> swollen lymph glandd and fever --> feel sucky so I ate little --> dental procedure prohibited furtherr eating --> no food makes for a fainted Gummy at Coco's. =P
Now? I still have a low fever, though I'm taking aspirin. I can't take out my wisdom tooth/teeth until I return from China, so the dentist prescribes antibiotics and some medication to help with the pain and fever if it starts up there. I'll be back in tomorrow to finish the other half of deep cleaning and I WILL eat a giant bowl of whatever I can before walking in tomorrow morning, ha ha ha. =)
***
Bad dental habits build up, eh? Heh heh. Don't get me wrong - I brush my teeth well. But when I was little, we didn't really do regular dental check-ups, and now that I'm older, I haven't changed much in that arena either. And my wisdom teeth never came out (they're supposed to come out in the late teens. I'm so late with everything, it seems, ha ha...maybe I really AM younger than my age ^_^). My teeth are crooked and overcrowded - my mouth is too small or something, ha ha - and every time, the dentist tells me to get braces. But he doesn't do it in a nice way - it's like he's trying to sell something, and we couldn't afford it. So though I wanted braces, I didn't want to get them from him. The dentist I went to today was pretty nice, so I'll go with what this one is saying, and possibly, there might be braces in the future. Let's see on the cost first though. =)
06.20.06, Tuesday:
[12:55pm] Petit Beurres. Recipe adopted from one of my favorite food blogs, Chocolate & Zucchini, except that I added a handful of chopped up almonds, halved the sugar (my mom doesn't like sweet stuff, so this was in attempt to get her to eat them ^_^), halved the salt (nobody could get used to cookies with a slightly salty taste. Everyone's reaction was "What the heck ARE these?!?!?!", because they were so deceived by the sweet-looking cookie that everyone stereotypes as being sweet, hee hee!), and my pictures aren't as nice as CZ's. =) They are still best with a cup of warm tea or cocoa or coffee...if you like coffee that is.
I dropped off these fresh Petit Beurres at my cousin's house (they're like 3 doors down, so it was a short walk) and Anthony's response was:
"You have a lot of time on your hands, don't you?"
Heh heh. I guess it was cuz I dropped off my Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookies (Mr. Hague's recipe by the way. It's so good that it's the ONLY chocolate chip cookies I'll ever make! ^_^) on Sunday, and some Garden Stuffed Baked Potatoes last night, ha ha.
He's right. With no teaching, I tend to cook and bake and cook some more. =) If I wasn't a teacher, my second ideal profession would be to cook everyday (with an unlimited source of money to buy all these ingredients, ha ha...) and open a tiny shop. "The Cookie Corner", where I would sell cookies and other yummies on the street corner near my house? Or a tiny cafe, where there'd be a mini-bakery, bistro and cafe shop (for boba, smoothies, grilled sandwiches, House fried rice, beef chow fun, Hainan chicken, Singapore rice noodles, dumplings and fishballs...) and a bunch of Asian snacks to sell on the side? And with tables that featured Chinese chess and checkers, Sudoku and Scrabble, and other little games for customers to play while snacking or hanging out, and a few nice couches/sofa chairs...with a bookshelf filled with fun cookbooks, some books to read, and magazines to browse through.
I had dropped off my dad's car at the shop this morning, baked and cooked, emailed friends in China/HK about contact information while I'm there, cleaned and washed and packed...wrote up a page for the science section of this summer's newsletter out of the blue for my principal, and the day's only half over. Yay! ^_^
06.19.06, Monday:
[09:30am] Another action-packed weekend! ^_^
Congrats to Calvin on his graduation! ^_^ He graduated from UCR yesterday morning.
After Calvin's Graduation, we actually made it back in time for Father's Day service at church! Happy Father's Day to my dad! ^_^ Who's the best dad? My dad of course, ha ha. I am biased, but oh well...he IS the best, and I couldn't be luckier nor happier with him as my dad! ^_^
Besides the special grads/dads stuff at church, NEIL also visited us! Woot woot! Long time no see, heh heh. =) So of course, the guys all had to play bball in honor of them all being together again. While at it, my bro sprained his ankle, so he missed jumping into Ralm's Durango later and heading for our next graduation for the day...(he's better now, by the way! ^_^)
Congrats to Melody on her graduation too! ^_^ From where? UCI, of course!
*zot!!*
We couldn't get into the Bren Events - they changed the rules, where we can't even watch the ceremony on the TVs outside the auditorium without a ticket. So we meandered around the campus, toured the marketplace, and even concentrated on playing Sudoku. Vanessa was the first one finished with the whole time around, and it was her first time playing. Go Math and Music Major, ha ha ha...! ^_^
While back at UCI, our alma mater, we saw a bunch of new things, including these Chinese statues that they put in near the Humanities section. We couldn't resist playing with our new Chinese friends, Li Bai, Magu, Qu Yuan, and Lao Zi...=)
06.15.06, Thursday:
[11:12pm] The most amazing thing happened today...see, I just found out yesterday that REACh wants me to go to summer camp next Thursday and Friday. I can only make it for those 2 days, and to leave Friday before campfire starts so that I can get a good night's rest before packing up and leaving for China Saturday night. So what was so amazing about this? See the emails below:

Proof that He is way too amazing: God works in the most unexpected and wonderful ways. =) I was hoping for half of it to be subsidized, and He took care of the whole thing - and woah, gas too...!
I just got back not too long ago from Andrew's graduation. Congrats to my cousin! =) He's heading for Cal Poly Pomona after this, heh heh, but meanwhile, it IS summertime. =) I missed graduation at Ramona - it'd be my first group of students ever graduating from there. Congrats to them (though they don't know of this website, ha ha)...I hope it all went well. I hope I can find someone that brings the program to school tomorrow so I can look up names and be proud of them all. =)
This morning though, was Promotion at my school. I got to read my 2nd period students' names and their awards. I felt so loved today too! Heh heh...while walking UP the stage, the kids were already in a ruckus, yelling and screaming for me - and it lasted a long time, long enough for me to have a hard time wondering when I could start talking, hee hee...and when I did, it didn't help either - I barely got out introducing myself before they started going crazy again, hee hee. Sigh. I love my students. And yep, I'm going to extend my bragging rights - Mr. Smith got crazy happy yelling also, and to think that I would even be NEAR the amount of crazy happy yelling he had was like...wow...to be near the ranks and caliber of the awesome teacher that he is amazes me! ^_^ So yes, I felt loved. And the kids did GREAT at the ceremony, and there were a million goodbyes and hugs and pictures afterwards. I'll miss them - they're great!
But I certainly don't mind summer crashing into my front yard either. ^_^
S. Hester, Lynda, Jeffrie and I took time out for lunch at the local CPK, where I saw one of my students, Anthony T., celebrating lunch with his family. Our wait was so long that Anthony's family ate and were done before we were even seated. The service was horrible, and my salad came with two eeeeeensy pieces of chicken...so they brought me more chicken later. This girl has GOT to eat, or I get cranky, irritable and frustrated, hee hee hee...but yeah...that was all I had for the whole day until dinner time, which was like at 9:45 tonight after Andrew's graduation. So today, food and I were not friends. =(
[06:38am] The school year is ending fast! It still hasn't really hit me - maybe because I still have to go in to work tomorrow, hee hee...
My students were leaving the classroom yesterday, quite sad, giving hugs left and right. I even got presents! Monica Q. was awesome enough to really put a lot of thought into her gift, and she got me one of those name drawings with "Ms. Lau" on it (it's so awesome, cuz I've always wanted one!), some antibacterial hand thing (which can be helpful...after all...I got TWO styes this year, and I've never gotten them before...), fun stamps for me to play with and use, as well as a little turtle figurine. ^_^ Another student, Luis, got me a Nemo decorative piece with a photo frame - it's awesome, cuz maybe I can put it in my fish tank. I'll have to see if it's safe for the bubble eyes though, hee hee...although they seem to just push their bubbles into everything anyways. =P
I made a "teacher myspace". Myspace, as you know, is pretty silly, hee hee...but it's one way to keep in touch with former students I guess. Plus, it's a good decoy to throw them off from my alias online, right? Muah ha! ^_^
But anyways, yesterday was Vanessa and Josh's graduation! Congrats to both! ^_^ I wasn't able to find Josh, but I did get to congratulate him via cell phone. UCI, here he comes! Woot woot! Zot away! All hail my alma mater, eh? I did find Vanessa's family, and Lauren too! Sigh - both I've known since they were in kindergarten...karazy huh??? Some pictures from yesterday:
(1) Vanessa's ready for her name to be called! I think 2 former students were at North, as well as 2 others on the Honor Guard. Neato! (2) Bobby was jumping up on the fences looking for his daughter, heh heh...(3) Matthew...who was as hyper as ever. Ooo. He should meet my "cousin" Irene...muah ha...their powers combined would be...scary...O_o
(4) Sharon! ^_^ (5) Lauren and I! Congrats to Lauren again! ^_^ (6) Chris, V, Bobby and Matthew
(7) Chris & Vanessa! ^_^ (8) Vanessa & I! ^_^ (9) It's Michelle! Agh! I forgot to ask her to go to Summer Camp...must...ask...her...
(10) Lauren, V, and Matthew
06.09.06, Sunday:
[11:28pm] Another busy but fun weekend of celebrations! =)
Friday night was the 8th grade dance, and wow, it was fun! Besides seeing the students all dressed up, we gotta show them how to get down on the dance floor, ha ha ha...Angela, Mercedes, Nikki, Eden, even Connie...and even the student teachers joined on in. Angela and I even started a giant train, hee hee hee...^_^
Saturday morning, I went in to work to interview a possible science teacher with my principal. He brought me a Sausage and Egg McMuffin - AND a hash brown and OJ! He's an awesome boss!!! ^_^ Besides that though, I really am blessed - with a loving family, wonderful Shelton, a church with fantastic people, and an excellent principal to work under. (Thank You God! ^_^)
The rest of Saturday was spent at Grace and Scott's Wedding! Congrats to the newlyweds! Most of the pictures tell the story. Besides that, I met my "cousins" (actually, they were Gracie's cousins through her mom; we're related to Grace through her dad; so technically, the "cousins" and I weren't really related at all, ha ha, but it was fun meeting them!), and realized that Irene and I are also "cousins". The girl remembered me from months ago, and she's just as, ahem, energetic as ever. She's a sweet girl though, and I wonder when I'll see her next...heh heh...We ate at a nice outdoor setting by the Pacific Ocean at the Marriott and boogied on the dance floor for a second night in a row. =)
We all got up early this morning to go to Cal Poly Pomona, for my brother's graduation. Yay for him! ^_^ The story is in the pictures again, heh heh, and includes major dim-summing at Sam Woo's in Rowland Heights, basketball back home at the park, having Andrew's crazy-wonderful strawberry-kiwi smoothies made with sweetened condensed milk, packed with real fruit, and thickened with ice. Dinner was at home, and after, we watched Cars, a highly recommended movie. My favorite? Guido. ^_^
06.09.06, Friday:
[06:30am] Pupusarisimo!!! ^_^ Adventures in Fontana con Heidi included pupusas con queso y lorocos (mmm!), pupusas con chicharron (wow!), pupusas revueltas, y pupusas con queso y frijoles. Tambien, nosotros hemos comido empanadas (eh, okayish, but good...not striking though), y hemos bebido KOLACHAMPAN (cream soda)! ^_^ Pupusas necesitan curtido, a Salvadoran-type kim-chee, hee hee. =) It's crazy gooey and yummy - Pupusarisimo! ^_^
After eating (and Huy, I passed by your work place! ^_^), I helped Heidi move her sofa onto her truck, and we ended up having tea on her couch on top of her pick up on the driveway. =)
My pictures always tend to come out weirdish. Bleah, it's okay. =) But Heidi is leaving, pretty much forever, and I will miss her. Who ELSE will have tea with me in the back of a pick up, on a couch? And who else will have my talk show with??? Heh heh.
Tell Selma I said hello!!!! ^_^
I got to Heidi's after an extremely long leadership meeting. I didn't know how long it'd last - I heard an hour, hour and a half. So, to be department head, we go to these meetings that lasted (yesterday anyways) 2.5 hours. AGHHH!!!! After a whole day of teaching, staying an extra 2.5 hours for a long meeting is...wow...oy...and this will have to be a regular thing next year? O_o Maybe I will change the meeting somehow. Bring food to keep all awake. Cut to the chase. Heh heh. =)
Congratulations Lauren!!! =) She graduated last night from Diamond Bar High. Yay!!! =)
Wednesday was the 8th grade picnic. Ugh. Pharoah's suck. =( They took my water bottle, apple juice, homemade petit beurres, almond cookies, and rice crackers (I was gonna bring all these goodies to share!) at the door. Why? They changed management and won't allow a drop of food in there (they literally scoured my bag), forcing everyone to buy their food, which started at $3 for water. They didn't allow cash either - everything, including food and games, were run by tokens. I had told ALL my students to bring water, too. And locker rentals went up from $2 to $8. To ride the laser tag, bumper boats, any carnival rides, and mini golf, you had to use one of the little extra stubs they gave us - and there were only 5 stubs. So if you didn't go in the water, there was little else to do. And I brought a whole roll of quarters for the arcades, and they were all shut down. Anyways, the field trip was still fun except for that part, and all kids made it back one way or another, heh heh. =)
With the leadership meeting yesterday and the final dance tonight ("A Night In Paris"), it's been a long few days. At least there's not a lot of grading to deal with. =P
Time to get ready! Adios por now! =)
06.06.06, Tuesday:
[06:08am] I turned my computer on today, and there's so much to pray for...Lord, may you lift all of these individuals in my prayers up and take care of them - emotionally, spiritually, and physically. Thank you. =)
I made Petits Buerres last night. They're quite tasty, and especially delightful with a cup of warm tea. I added crunched up almonds into the recipe, and mmmmm...the smell from the oven last night was heavenly. =)
And while waiting for the biscuit buerres to chill in the fridge, I made a yummy salmon spread for my sandwich at lunch! It has salmon, diced tomatoes, more crunched up almonds, green onions, raisins, lemon juice, enough mayo to moisten and a small spoonful of wasabi mayo...with salt and pepper to taste. Simple, but refreshingly delicious on grilled slices of bread with large lettuce leaves. Great for this weather, ha ha...=)
I also made dinner for my mom last night! =) I didn't get to take pictures, but the menu featured:
Yep. All this time to cook. Why? Because suddenly after work, I realized that hey...I HAVE NO MORE WORK LEFT!!! Ha ha! Not that I'm doing nothing in my classroom, but get this - today's the district test (= nothing for me), and tomorrow's the class picnic/field trip (= nothing for me). Thursday, Friday, and Monday, we will be building our rockets ( except for a little preparation on my part, = nothing for me!) and Tuesday, we launch our rockets (= nothing for me!). That leaves us with Wednesday for promotion practice and a little bit of yearbook signing and goodbyes, followed by a Thursday for promotion. Other than grading late work and adding in participation points for the rocket building, I'm done! Wow! I'm...freeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...!!! =)
And with free time, besides cooking, I'll have to restudy my Chinese lessons and prepare for China! Jia Yow! =)
06.05.06, Monday:
[06:12am] Happy Birthday Mommy! ^_^ Who's the best cook? That's right, my mom! Heh heh heh...! ^_^
Friday night? Pantages for Hairspray. Awesome!!! I think I like the dancing more than anything else...it was excellent - I wanted to get up and dance the whole time, ha ha ha...! If you've not seen it...you should! ^_^
Saturday morning? Rosalyn, Shelton, and I went to La Jolla Ecological Coves for snorkeling and chillin' at the beach. ^_^ The waves were wild at times, and knocked me all over the place...literally...hee hee...I was standing next to Shelton and Ros at one moment, and suddenly, I was gone, flipped and on my back and rolling around, heh heh. It was kinda fun. =) We also saw a million sand crabs, hermit crabs, other small rock crabs, sea anemone, lichen, and bunch of other things inside these caves that led to a small tide pool. We wanted to eat at Hash House A Go Go, but it was too crowded...and we were huuuungry, ha ha...so we went to Sanfillipi's for yummy and gooey Italian sandwiches. ^_^ Before getting home and watching Kevin James with Rainbow Sherbet and snacks, we went around at Tom's Farms, buying goodies to snack on. =)
Saturday night? We took my mom out to birthday dinner at Sam Woo's, filling our stomachs with Peking Duck, Emperor Chicken, Stir-Fry Soy Sprouts, Baby Pork and Jellyfish appetizer, Crispy Tofu, Eight Treasures Wintermelon Soup, and...I'm sure I missed something. That, with our choice of red bean or flower tofu for dessert. ^_^
Sunday? My daddy spoke at church, for our church's 15th Anniversary. He was rockin' awesome! ^_^ He took a lot of time to prepare for it, and it completely showed. I'm proud to have such a genius as my father, heh heh. =) Afterwards, I took my mom shopping for her birthday. You can never go wrong with shoes, right? ^_^ Or as Andrew said, "You can never go wrong with shoes and jewelry." And next week, my bro will be graduating from college. Woot woot! I love my family! ^_^
