March 2006
03.31.06, Friday:
[06:10am] Last day of March!
Happy Birthday Crystal! =)
Woke up thinking...ONE MORE DAY! Heh heh...DC will be exciting. I'm going to use the map that Edwin and Dorothy gave me a long time ago when they went, and maybe be lucky enough to find Edwin there, though I think it will be difficult with chaperoning, hee hee. Maybe he can come find me. =)

Position 14 for me, ha ha ha...see the mole? ^_^
No allergies that I know of...I think I just like food. ^_^
I got a free packet of Tazo Lotus, a type of green tea, from the food magazine...and I LOVE it...I saved the teabag and reused it about 3 times before I decided to let it go, hee hee...
Other favorite teas include:
Chinese teas are different from English teas, because I don't even need sugar nor cream in most cases, and they're just as good. =)
03.30.06, Thursday:
[08:45pm] I like how they'd be called the Lollipop man in England, hee hee...
Picking up British would simply be a matter or practice, right? So I'll have to use the following words from time to time:
Mental / Bugger / Sod / Lad / Bloke / Chap / Bits and Bobs / Bonce / Burk / Dapper / Dim Wit / Dustman / Git / Gumby / On Your Tod / Bollocks / Posty / Scatty / Very Well / Wally / You Lot / The Pictures / Holiday / Ladybird / Lift / Mobile / Over the Moon / Rubbish / Shopping Trolley / Telly / Cheeky / Fancy / Gobsmacked / Pip Pip / ...and other stuff, hee hee...
It'd be nice if we had elevenses and afternoon tea here, but oh well...=)
Aw, no phone call from Wendy, nor Linda nor Michael...not hanging out tonight I guess...=P
Anna and I shared a dish at Black Angus last night. How I've missed their delicious garlic mashed potatoes...! ^_^ I convinced her to go to Target with me afterwards, and showed her how wonderfully cheap Target brand contact solution is (under $5 for a pack of 2, compared to the $6 - $7 per bottle of Renu or something like it), and how it's exactly the same, and like with Shelton, I know have a new convert to Target brand contact solution. Yay! =)
03.26.06, Sunday:
[09:45pm] Besides playing with my camera, what else happened in the past couple of days???
I got to hang out with Heidi on Thursday night, after the Student Led Conferences. We had more than enough fun at Borders, where they had a 25% off for all teachers (current and retired! Just need some sort of proof! STILL GOING ON TILL TUESDAY!), and I got a Chinese Dictionary and The True Story of Hansel and Gretel. I'm tempted to return again though...ha ha....afterwards, we ate good stuff at Marie Callendars before visiting that wonderful little store called...Trader Joes...mmm...^_^
And on Friday night, we had prayer meeting at the church! I forgot to bring the church keys...and Thomas forgot too...so Shelton hopped the fence...and we all got to meet in the fellowship hall. ^_^ Melody and Megan came too! Yay! More girls! ^_^ Anyways, we're all starting something new on BHT (or written down on a calendar) - reading Proverbs. For those that keep up with it...it'd really help with devotionals...so join on in if you like! ^_^
DVD is back! And getting married sometime this year, I hear. Woah! Time flies...!
A'ight. Time to shower and sleep good for a week of work. G'night all! ^_^
[06:12pm] With my camera back, it's PICTURE TIME! ^_^
(1) 87 and 88 ^_^ (2) B&W: A Duck with a Gummy ^_^ (3) Pet Shop Lizards
(1) Baby Humuhumunukunukuapua'a! I saw many big ones in Hawaii, so it was cool to see a baby one, hee hee... (2) A colorful fish thing. (3) See the dead Nemo? =Þ
Shelton and I went fishing this weekend. Though we decided not to get the dwarf puffers (too small, and too complicated to take care of), we got instead a Dragon Goby, named Picasso (the Beast), and an Algae Fish, named Hoover (the Nightcrawler), to start off the X-Tank...a tank for gifted fish, muah ha ha...^_^
(1) Picasso at the store, before he came home with us. (2) A close-up of Picasso. See his beady little eyes? ^_^ (3) Hoover is difficult to get a good picture of, so until I get a better one, this will do for now. =)
After church today, we added Paul and Barnabas, two bubble-eye goldfish. ^_^
(1) PB in the car. (2) B&W: Barnabas (Paul is the smaller one, with smaller bubbles, as Paul was "small in stature", ha ha...Actually, haven't gotten a good shot of Paul just yet either).
(1) Barnabas in the X-Tank, and (2) Barnabas up close - a fuzzy shot, but well worth seeing. =)
Playing with the black and white (and sepia) function on my camera, I got a bunch of after-church-special photos. ^_^
(1) Matthew picking up rollie pollies off the ground. (2) My Mello and Me! (3) Children's craft of the day...
(1) Mmm...so refreshing...don't you want one too??? ^_^ (2) Matthew took this of Sharon and I. =) (3) Nina, the New Rock Starquita!
(1) ET, lookin' beautiful! =) (2) M&M, ET, and Nina. =) (3) Nina and ET, Jesus Freaks!
(1) Jason, guitarist for Christ, with aspiring artist Scotty. ^_^ (2) ET with a Gummy! (3) Sepia: ET with M&Ms!
(1) Sepia: Nina and Tree (2) A nice one, though reminiscent of a scary Blair Witch like scenery! O_o (3) Nina and her Tree friend again...
(1) Nina about to eat the tree...^_^ (2) Nina spinning around like crazy (thanks Shelton for the gif! ^_^)
And of course, we can't end it with just that...there's also a special video of Nina's debut concert!!! ^_^ She's learning the guitar, and just learned how to play and sing "God Is So Good". Check it out! ^_^
03.22.06, Wednesday:
[06:26am] Last night, our two protagonists, Gail and Anna, made their way to eat Pho and Banh Mi at the Pho 99 in Rowland. Mmm. I still like Pho 79 best, but this was good too - and the sandwich had mighty good chicken in it!

Energized, they went off onto their adventure, visiting a place called Shoe City, a province filled with many shoes of different colors and sizes. Though they didn't have light green Converse low-tops, they did have a lovely pair of Nikes that our heroine Anna powered up with, using her ATM card for the first time! Heh heh, after some forewarning from the vigilant Gail about the dangers and evils of Credit Cards, off they went to PetCo so see the many colorful fish, lizards, and finches, baby sun conures, and cockatiels before rushing out to see three playful, pouncing patio kittens and an array of puppies at another pet shop.

They even came across a lake filled with large and colorful koi - of which both heroines put their fingers into the lake, making the koi think that they had food (when they didn't!). Both got too scared when the kois came up and opened their large mouths to suck on their fingers - aghhhhhh!!!! - and quickly ran away when Anna saw the local security guard wandering their way from the corner of her eye. =)
With their energies expended, another adventure has concluded. =)
Join us next week for the next episode! ^_^
And for your entertainment (I think this was from Heidi, who sent it to Shelton and not I, ha ha ha...^_^ j/k j/k!)
03.22.06, Wednesday:
[06:26am] I love my homegirl Giang! ^_^ It was great to simply hang out, not do much work, chat and catch up, eat (Charley's for me! Yay! 4 subs more for a free one, ha ha!) and even take in the crazy sale at Robinson's May.
It's so sad - since its inception, Robinson's May has always been my favorite department store. Nordstrom's is too costly, Macy's is too ritzy, and JC Penney didn't hit the spot. Now, it looks like a lonely ghost town, with everything moved to a few sections only, the rest of the store cleared and marked with yellow warning tape.
Either way, we both got a deal, ha ha...there were only two twin size ones left, and we both got to use our warming blankets to sleep, ha ha...and it works sooooo nicely...I was toasty warm, and there's even a remote control for it, ha ha. =) Since I was up late watching Harry Potter 4 with my bro, I was worried I'd be dead tired this morning - but I wasn't because I was so toasty and warm sleeping. =)
Some other fun discoveries yesterday included finding an Asian Market near Magnolia, by Joe's Sushi. It's got SU TAH RAMEN!!!!!! ^_^

It's my favorite kind of ramen. And I haven't been able to find it at the 99 Ranches, TS Emporiums, and HK Supermarkets. But at this little Asian Market, there are boxes and boxes and boxes of it. I am one happy ramen eating muchacha! ^_^
And I also visited a fish store, in anticipation of well, keeping a fish as a pet. So far, options include:

Dwarf Puffers...(but I can't get an algae fish with these ones...!)

...and Bubble Eyes! (of which I CAN get an algae fish...!)
Calvin's xanga is helping someone else - FREE PUPPIES here! Golden Retrievers even! Aw....
03.20.06, Monday:
[07:31pm] My camera is finally back! And I think everything is fully fixed this time...yay...it only took...3 months. O_o Really though...it shouldn't have taken three times for them to fix it. Maybe that threat of making them give me a new one worked. Either way, I can take pictures again! Woot woot! ^_^
And the threat of a lawsuit worked too. After I didn't get a phone call from the manager today, especially since I left a rather vicious voicemail on his machine about sending a lawyer over, muah ha, I called again, left another message, and he called back, saying "They've actually started on the repairs today, believe it or not!". Hmm. No worries - I got homies down in Vegas that can confirm it to us, so that we don't karazy on them. =)
The weekend was awesome though! Went to Vegas to play and eat, and celebrate Shelton's mom's 60th bday with a giant 10-course Chinese dinner of Shark Fin Soup, the Appetizer Plate, Peking Duck, a Hawaiian dish (macadamia nuts, asparagus, beef, carrots, and strawberries!), a Shrimp and Scallop Bird's Nest with fancy Gai-Lan garnishes, a Red Snapper, Lobster, Yee Mien, the "Abalone" and veggie dish, and the Birthday Peach Buns! Plus red bean and tong yuens for dessert...and a gigantical cake afterwards, ha ha...We were more than stuffed...trust me on this, ha ha...^_~
Other highlights in Vegas include dim sum, searching for our moms at the casino for almost an hour, and finding the coolest goldfish! Akitoki is a golden (not orange, like the usual kinds) colored lionhead goldfish! He's awesome, and waddles when he swims, heh heh...and seems to be doing fine with all the other fantails at the Yuen's. =)
Later on Sunday, we went to the Wismer's for FoCus and dinner. Their house is awesome - neato furniture pieces, with such a fun kitchen! And an island BBQ in the back! And the million fish and birds things that were there - two animals that I do like. (Okay, I like a lot of animals, heh heh. But I do have a thing for birds. And fish lately, mostly because of Akitoki. ^_^) Fellowship lesson went fine, I think? And it was good for everyone to get to know each other better too! And the food was undeniably delish. I learned a secret recipe for green beans too. Mmmm...I can still taste it...=)
I didn't get much work done over the weekend, of course. So tonight...I have make up work. Bleah. =Þ
Woah. 12 days till DC! AGHHHH!!!! (excited, ha ha!)
03.16.06, Thursday:
[06:05am] Mmmm...Tofu and BBQ was the name of the game, and Anna and I ate the Korean Seafood and Green Onion Pancake, and their Beef and Tofu Pot. And O-Dang! Heh heh. 'Twas mighty delicious! I even found a recipe to try out! ^_^
03.15.06, Wednesday:
[06:13am] Happy Birthday to Tina! It was on the 13th, Monday, hee hee...^_^
So far, this week...
03.10.06, Friday:
[06:46am] Crispy Shrimp Taquitos from Claim Jumper...a new addition to crispy favorite...!!! Goes right on up there with Pho 79 Egg Rolls, and Tasty House Curry Triangles, ha ha ha...=)
Anna and I indulged in Clam Chowder and them Taquitos last night. Mmm...
No students today! I still have to go to work though, ha ha...it's one of them teacher work days.
Happy Birthday Gavin! I think he's 6 now, hee hee. His birthday was yesterday. ^_^
My eye is still swollen. =( When will it go away?
And my digicam is still in Illinois, so there hasn't been any pictures lately. I hope it comes back...uh...completely fixed...this is the third time it's sent in! Oy! O_o
You know what's stuck in my head? That Relient K song, titled Meow Mix. It starts off with: "We Want Chiiiiiiicken....Chicken and Liver..." Heh heh heh...^_^
Time to get ready for work! =)
03.05.06, Sunday:
[09:20pm] Past week in a nutshell...
The rain came! And it will come again! Perfect time for more snow playing...ahhh...snow...so clean and fresh! I love it. =)
Chinese Pizza, Kung Pao Shrimp, and Double Noodles with Anna, before going for more hippity hoppin'! Yay! AND I got to do a crossword puzzle, ha ha ha...so much awesomeness hanging out with my homegirl! ^_^
Boba and dinner, finished off with Aquamarine Friday night with Amy, hee hee. =) An interesting movie - I hope it doesn't reflect how young girls deal with boys nowadays, oy! O_o However, it does have funny points, like how they glorify Raaaaaaymond, ha ha ha...^_^
Vanilla...Rooibos Chai...Hot Cinnamon Sunset...African Autumn....with blueberry scones...piping hot savory pastries...and open-faced tea sandwiches! Include some running around outside an old, two story Victorian home, and you have a delightful afternoon of English Tea! ^_^ Fun fun for Nina, ET, Amy and I during Saturday afternoon! ^_^
Shelton had a pretty high fever on Saturday...after lots of water, Tylenol, rest, and warmth, he got better. Whew. I think I was doubly worried because of what happened to his car on Friday, and then him being sick when he got here. =( He left not too long ago, and is doing much, much better. =)
Under the Canopy of Love is my current addiction. A funny Cantonese drama that I cannot resist. ^_^ If you like Canto-drama, you'd like this one. ^_^
Subbed for Sunday School today. Then was the mystery speaker for the Children's Worship, and they all seemed to enjoy writing the things they can do for God on the grapes I cut out last night for their makeshift grapevine. =) Church was followed by a bit of grocery shopping and FoCus at my house. FoCus was full of some singing, Bible Study, prayer, and eating Pot Roast, my Spinach Salad variation, Mushroom Mashed Potatoes (with Cream of Mushroom as gravy, hee hee), and Garlic Toast, finished with Rainbow Sherbet as dessert. =) The peanuts and soybean snacks were all gone, and the brown fake-chocolate sticks were thrown away because...well...you simply had to eat one to know what it was about, hee hee...! >_< After talking about future plans, opening up restaurants and cooking fried rice, the night ended, and here I am! =)
I have to finish work now though. There's still school tomorrow, and these students, I guess, will need a teacher, eh? ^_^
