As many of you know James Bulger was a sweet 35 month old baby who was murdered near Liverpool,England.For those of you who don't know of him here is a short version of his story.James Patrick Bulger was born March 16,1990 to Denise and Ralph Bulger.From all pictures and articles I've seen of him, he was a very happy gentle child with a beautiful smile and a special twinkle in his eyes.A child who never harmed another living thing and only had love to give.So why he was so brutally murdered by two young boys Robert Thompson and Jon Venables is something I will never understand.This is how it happened 11 years ago on Feb.12,1993.James was with his mother Denise Bulger(now Denise Fergus) at a shopping mall in Bootle.Robert and Jon had skipped school that day,and after they tired of shoplifting they decided to try something else.They decided to kidnap a child and get him or her lost,just for the fun of it or to see if they could get away with it,who knows why.After the first attempt to take a small boy,who was saved by his mother before anything bad could happen to him.They came upon James,and lead him out of the mall.Taking James on a 2 1/2 mile walk they ended up at a lonely stretch of railroad tracks.It is here that Robert and Jon, tortured James by throwing paint in his eyes and mouth,throwing stones and bricks at him,knocking him to the ground.Then after knocking him down they kicked him repeatly until he didn't move anymore.It was then they decided to place his body across the tracks so a train could run over him,to hide what they had did and make it look like a accident.James was so badly hurt that his parents were not allowed to identity his body another family member did.Since my brother was murdered I can understand the shock,the senseless guilt you feel and the anger at the killers who took your loved ones life.James killers basically got away with murder,they spent 8 years in a special unit where they were protected from any harm and given a above the norm education.Some sentence huh ?? Yeah thats what I thought,what killers wouldn't want this sentence.After their release they were given new names,lots of money,new homes,cars 24 hour protection from anyone wanting to hurt them and passports,all of this was for them and their families too. |
