My Slow Descent Into Loserhood - My Atari Games
VENTURE (Coleco)
Rating: 6.0
High Score (So Far): n/a

The first time I popped this puppy in I thought "oh geez another Pac Man clone".  Being fairly ignorant in the ways of the Atari I played for a bit and found it fairly fun.  And don't get me wrong--the game is fun... it just has at least four major problems that detract from the usual mirth-making that my Atari time brings.
Problem the first: when you are the little square going into the rooms, you have very  little control over being slaughtered by the monsters.  This is especially irksome in the later levels, when the monsters become fast and unpredicatble.

Did anyone else notice that the "green monster" portion (pictured above) is not to scale with the actual room?  If you did, then give yourself one loser point.

.
Problem the second: you are a goddamn smiley face with a gun!  Where do I even begin??

Problem the third: when you shoot a monster, you can still be killed by him even though he is just a smouldering heap of ashes.  Yikes.

Problem the fourth: YOU ARE A GODDAMN SMILEY FACE WITH A GUN!
Problem the fifth: The control of your "shots" sucks.

For every antecedent problem you find, give yourself 2 loser points.

Really, though, this game aint all that bad, once you get used to the fact that there are flaws.  Just remember... don't step on snake carcasses and always, always, keep smilin'!!
