Part A: Index.htm

The beginning page for every web site should be named index.htm. You will create a file named index.htm. That page should include the following:

• Your Name
• Hyperlink to the Part B portion of project 1 [Hyperlink should say “Web Page design”]

Part B: Some Info about You

Personal Home Page
For part B of project 1, create a personal home page for yourself, including whatever information you would like to share publicly with classmates and others.

Be sure to include the following elements in part B:

• A minimum of one graphic [preferably a photo of yourself... but any ol' graphic will do]
• A title tag for your page
• Appropriate use of text effects [such as bold, italics, font color, varying font sizes as appropriate]
• A mailto hyperlink to your email account
• A hyperlink to the other three projects [ They will not be working links yet]
• A hyperlink to the schools web site
• If your web page is more than one "screen" in length, provide an anchor and a hyperlink to Return to the Top of the page.
• Use a background image [There are many places on the web where you can find free background images. Go to any search engine and use keyword: backgrounds and you'll find a million or so.
• Create at least one list [Ordered List, Unordered List, or Definition List]

 

 

 

Turning in the Assignment

Turn in the assignment by uploading it to your geocities created site. Place all of the files for this assignment in a project 1 folder. After you have uploaded it, check all of your hyperlinks and make sure all of your graphics appear properly in the pages. When you are satisfied, send your instructor an email with a hyperlink to your work.

Grading your Assignment

Your assignment will be graded on the following merits.
