| Nominee by Ryan Stanberry Being blind for a play at the theatre Wow, you did an awesome job Mustve had a lot to think about Sayin lines while the spot line shines Making it easy to be blind you must confess Had to make it to all the rehearsalson time And wear shin guards to survive Practice became a temporary life Its ok and its ok cuz you got out alive (Chorus1) And alive and alive You show yourself While blind you strive To feel out whats best (Chorus2) And alive, alive You act anothers ways And youll strive through all (youll take the falls) Through-out the play. The audience is as big as a mob Some young, some old, some that hate popcorn but prefer corn on the cob like me. But they stay and they wait for the curtain call Cuz they all know, that youll make this show (Chorus1+2) (Bridge) cuz they all know, that youll make this show cuz they all know, that youll make this show cuz they all know, that youll make this show alive. (Chorus1+2) (Verse 1) (outro) making it easy to be making it easy to be blind making it easy to be blind you must confess. |
| This song was also inspired by a friend who is into the theatre. She acted-out a blind person in a play at a small theatre in town so I went to see her more for support than for the actual play. The play ended up being amazing and next to impactful which made the show so "alive". My friend did a great job acting a blind person(with her eyes open) hence she was nominated (and later won) best actress.. So it naturally inspired me to write this song about the play and what it took prior to performing it with some humor but not so shallow soul within the song itself. |
