Correct Nutrition...Continued
Rule #4
Drink eight glasses of water a day.  Seriously, everyone knows this, but few people realize how vital this is. There are a whole bunch of people that hardly drink one glass of water a day, let alone eight; which is seriously compromising their health.  Not only does having a steady supply of water help you stay hydrated, but also helps flush away toxins and aids in digestion.  People that hardly drink water are at higher risk for a variety of cancers and diseases.......which is unfortunate considering how easy water is to come by in the USA.  Two glasses when you wake up, one glass in the midmorning, one for lunch, one for midday, one for supper, and two before you go to sleep.  its as simple as that.

Rule #5
Take a multi-vitamin.  Another simple one that many people don't do.  A two month supply of Hannaford brand vitamins cost me about five bucks, and it takes me a second a day to take one, whoop dee do.  With a multi-vitamin you are ensured that you are getting all the extra's you need, even if your diet wasnt perfect for the day.

Rule #6
Don't eat three times a day, eat five-six times a day!  This rule has been followed by athletes and bodybuilders for decades, and is only now being caught on by the public. Whoever came up with the idea that three large meals a day is the right way to do it???  Well, it's not.  Our ancestors did not take lunch breaks or prepared large meals....instead they ate smaller meals throughout the day.  Although it does require more planning  and can be tedious, eating five smaller meals during the day has many benefits.  First, by eating smaller meals, there is hardly anything for your body to store as fat, as you give it just enough to provide you with the energy you need.  Secondly, by eating six times a day, you will notice you are almost never hungry, as you are eating every three hours, instead of every five.  This prevents stuffing yourself up with food then feeling bloated and miserable while your body tries to digest it all.  And lastly, eating six times a day helps you stay regular, yes I had to mention this as well....unfortunately lol
Sample Diet
Ok now we have all the rules down, now to use them to plan a daily diet.  This is actually what ill be eating the day I write this, and you'll notice that I eat quite a bit, but I need too because of my weightlifting routine and areobic exercise I do.  If I didnt eat enough, lifting weights would do nothing but destroy any muscle that I have, which is something that I definately do not want to do.

Breakfast 7:00AM - Two whole eggs w/ shredded cheese, one cup of broccoli, 2 glasses of water.

10:00AM - One can of tuna fish w/ salsa (yes its good stuff) 1 handful of almonds. 1 glass water

1:00PM - One chicken breast, one cup of brown rice, one cup of mixed vegtables.

4:00PM - One whey-protein shake, 1 subway veggie salad, 2 glasses of water.  (Whey protein shakes are basically a high quality type of protein that is found in egg whites, companies take this whey protein and turn it into powder and blend it with flavorings like strawberry, chocolate, etc, which you then can blend with milk or water to make your own milkshake.  I always have one an hour after I workout, as it provides the protein your body will need after lifting.  While not the best tasting in the world, they are not half bad.)

7:00PM - 1 1/2 cup of lowfat cottage cheese, 1/2 chicken breast, 1 cup water.

10:00PM - 1 mini bag of sunflower seeds, 1/2 cup of kidney beans w/ hamburg, 1 apple.

Conclusion
Well, I probably went overboard with all this nutrition info, as many of you will start losing weight just by cutting back on the binge drinking, as the Plattsburgh area has many a binger.  However, alot of people have asked me how the hell I lost almost 100 pounds in 12 weeks....and this is primarily the main answer....I don't eat hardly any (if at all) crap foods like soda, pop-tarts, etc.  I obviously don't starve myself, as is quite evident by how much I eat in a day, yet if I follow this diet to the letter for a month, I will get down to about 8-9% bodyfat, which is quite low.  By eating right and eating frequentely you will speed up your metabolism, while at the same time help your body build muscle, which will further increase your metabolism.  Soon you will become a furnace, and if you stick with it, it is quite easy to lose the fat.  Is it hard to stick with a diet like this, when there is McDonalds, cookies, soda, pizza, and italian food all over the place......hell yeah......but if you are motivated enough it shouldn't be a problem.
