| When the tragedy at Columbine High School happened, I was just a little kid. Even so, I realized as I watched the news, that what was going on was extremely horrible. She Said Yes: The Unlikely Martyrdom of Cassie Bernall is an extremely well-written book. It chronicles Cassie's life from birth, but it begins with her parents saying goodbye to her on April 20, 1999, the day she was killed. This book is an emotional one, with its highs and lows. You can feel the pain of Cassie's parents as they see the crime scene. You understand that, although she had troubled first teenage years, she eventually became a strong Christian. Cassie Bernall is a role model to many, because when she was posed the question "Do you believe in God?" with a gun to her head, she still said, "Yes." |
