This is Chance, my oscar (cichlid). Nice aquarium background, eh? I love this silly fish so much, that I actually drove a 120 mile round-trip just to get him back (and paid for him again) after getting fed up with the "large fish" tank and getting rid of all my fish. He just happened to be there still, so he was named Chance. He lives in a 50-gallon tank currently, but should soon be moving into an 80-gallon.
This calico fancy goldfish doesn't have a name, but I have had him since the day I moved into this new house. It lives in a 20-gallon tank with quite a motley array of friends (including an angelfish, dojo loach, banjo cat, betta, pleco, and an irridescent shark). Unfortunately, the white fish you see in the background died suddenly. Tank established March of 2002.
This is a male green terror that lives with Chance. He gets picked on a lot, I fear he may need to find a new home where he won't get picked on....darn cichlids.
Anybody else's kitchen counter look like this?!?!? Those two 5-gallon mini-bows house one betta each. There is a dwarf aquatic frog in the right mini-bow, along with long-finned leopard danios (absolutely beautiful fish), a couple cory cats, and some ghost shrimp. The left mini-bow houses white cloud mountain minnows, cories, ghost shrimp, and a betta. Now the tank on the far right is a 10-gallon with a sand base on the water side and aquarium gravel on the 'land' side. It houses a fire-bellied newt, a fire-bellied toad, a jeuvenile easter newt, 5 white clouds and countless white-cloud fry. I will have better photos of this set-up available on the herp page shortly.
Significant other messed up...I got roses. The betta is Milo, who is now in a planted tank (bright idea on my part). I'll be putting his tank back to look like it does in the photo shortly.
This is a rhino pleco that also lives with Chance. Apparently (as if I didn't know) he is a very beautiful specimen. You can find more photos of *my* (grin) rhino pleco on www.planetcatfish.com
This is Otis. He lives in the 5-gallon mini-bow on the right in the above photo of the kitchen counter. I have had him for going on 2 years now. He is the most beautiful betta I have ever seen. This photo doesn't do him justice (course none of the other fish turned out great either). He has personality to match his awesome color.
Mr. Ed and his 29-gallon tank. He loves it after having lived in a 20 gallon tank for so long. I believe he is a bit bigger now than in the photo. He is a regular comet feeder goldfish that grew into a beautiful big pet fish. In new tank since February of 2003.
This is Mr. Ed in his 20-gallon Long tank before he moved into his current spacious (for him) abode. You can see a couple of his friends in the background. Mr. Ed was brought home when he was about 5 inches long. Acquired in May (?) of 2002.
I turned Mr. Ed's old 20-gallon into this saltwater tank in February. I didn't like how this looked and couldn't afford enough live rock to make it look any better...so I moved it all into a 10-gallon tank. I don't have current photos yet. The new 10-gallon tank houses: 1 lawnmower blenny 1 bicolor psuedochromis 1 royal gramma 1 coral-banded shrimp 1 anemone (unknown) 1 anemone crab 1 urchin (unknown) 1 feather duster and a number of various species of snails.
I have many tanks in the house and a lot more photographing to do and so little time. Tanks with fish and/or aquatic herps: 2 80-gallon 1 50-gallon 1 44-gallon pent 1 29-gallon 1 20-gallon 5 10-gallon 3 5-gallon 1 1.5-gallon hex 2 betta bowls/vases
